In the center of the desert continent of Saxet, located on the planet of Tris'Hath, stands a towering mountain formally known as the Devil's Backbone. Some of the Saxen natives call it something much different, but, well, that's another story.

Founded by refugees from Star City Station after its infestation by xenodragons, the Nidus combines old technologies and new, built both into chambers excavated from the mountain and out onto platforms that spread and spiral around the Backbone like shelf mushrooms on a tree. It is a beacon of hope and prosperity in a harsh land, which has a cultural flavor strongly reminiscent of Earth's "Wild West" era. The refugees have adopted it rather well, despite the majority of them originating from futuristic societies. Space cowboys? You're darn tootin'!
