Tobias is exactly what you'd expect to see in a bouncer: tall, muscular, and with a chest broad enough to double as a roadblock. What's surprising about him is the obvious nature of his Oriental descent, despite his titanic height and build, and distinctively non-Oriental name. He's clearly a native to Star City, and a result of many generations of lineage-mixing that simply had one distant line come out more dominant than the others. He's barrel-chested and muscled like a bear, but with a bit of a belly that's the side effect of a love of good food. His black hair is cropped extremely short so it can't be yanked in the middle of a brawl, and he has no piercings and wears no jewelry for the same reason. He is, however, plated with cyborware Armour across the majority of his body, leaving only his head and feet completely unprotected. The Astral Shangri-la isn't a club known for frequent violence, but Tobias is the club's biggest juggernaut, and the management wanted to ensure he could wade into any scuffle and put an end to it.

Tobias is really just another variant of the gentle giant. Although owning a massive frame and standing an incredible six-and-a-half feet tall, he is more of an oversized Santa Claus than a warrior Goliath. He makes friends easily with his jovial manner, and unless he's throwing a club miscreant around, he is painstakingly gentle with those who are smaller than he is (which is pretty much everyone, at least among other humans).

He dislikes unnecessary conflict, and always attempts to act as mediator between quarrelling parties before resorting to physical force. Being of such grand stature and might also gives him an obvious advantage in breaking up what fights that do develop -- all he has to do is pick up the combatants and hold them at arm's length, after all. He is a dangerous force when incited to anger, though, and knows how to apply his strength to do the most damage. Although otherwise a peaceful man, Tobias has few qualms about putting down the violent in order to protect the defenseless.
