Acid Immunity

Xenodragons are immune to acids.

Acid Blood

Xenodragon blood is incredibly acidic, able to rapidly eat through most known organic and inorganic materials.

Bioluminescence

Allows the xeno to glow. All its bioluminescent parts itch and burn under strong light, so these hybrids prefer to dwell in darkness.

Mindstream Communication

The ability to communicate with all other xenodragons in existence.

Resin Secretion

The ability to produce a hard, glossy resin that can be used as a building material, mostly for hives and cocoons.

Telepathy

The ability to communicate mind-to-mind.

Wall-Climbing

The ability to climb and stick to any surface with ease.

Although Retejoss is physically the least xenodragon-like of Gavin's hive and his mother was an rankless sport, he was nevertheless born as the highest caste possible for a xenodragon male: that of the praetorians. This means that he is Gavin's royal guard by right of birth, subordinate to only the man (and his "alter-self", Gavess) himself. Thankfully, where more independently-willed creatures might rankle at being dominated by a newcomer, Gavin's unified hive accepted Retejoss's arrival with minimal confusion.

It was certainly to the furred-and-feathered mutt's benefit that he is an industrious worker, possessing vivacious energy and never faltering in his guardianship duties. He is rarely further from Gavin's side than he needs to be in order to be ready to protect the man at a moment's notice, but is more than just an ever-present piece of scenery. Despite the gravity of his role in the hive, Retejoss is a lively and cheerful character. Whether he speaks in words or not, he is great company, and not above socializing with the other humans and alien sentients whom Gavin encounters.
