Sotiel are naturally telepathic and communicate mind-to-mind. When pressed, they can defend themselves with powerful mental blasts.

Wall-Climbing

The ability to climb and stick to any surface with ease.

Satena is on the larger end of the sotiel size-spectrum, with skin and carapace of a bright cherry red. Her eyes are of lighter tones, with sky blue irises over denim blue sclera. She is missing a few of her dorsal spines due to on-the-job injury, but not enough to impair their overall receptive function. Her identifying pheromone is dry and spicy, a little bit like cinnamon.

As most sotiel, she doesn't wear clothing, but does wear armbands marked with her rank and name. She also wears pocketed leg-harnesses for carrying such things as her badge.

Hard shell, soft heart -- that's the kind of character Satena is. As a Inspector among Star City's security forces, she has to be plenty tough to keep dangerous ruffians and overeager rookies alike in line. She is one of Gavin's most valued subordinates because of her ability to lead and take charge. There's no one better than a telepath when it comes to coordinating large groups of people! She'll freely lay on the sharp side of her tongue (or her mind, that is) to keep someone in line, and rarely lets her conscience get in the way of what needs to be done.

New recruits are often a little scared of her, but if it means they'll listen to her the first time she has to command them, Satena is all right by that. She believes in the good of the whole rather than the good of the individual, so she can handle a few misconceptions about herself. In cultivating both fear and respect, Satena keeps her squad in line and in top organization. If you step out of line, she'll have you disciplined so fast your head'll spin, but do your job right and well, and she'll be the first to reward you.
