Magdalyn the Matron, that's what the other butterflyts affectionately call her. If Laeolyja ever wondered what having a mother would be like, he wonders no more. Magdalyn is loving and tends to the larger dragon in a way that is almost but not exactly condescending: in other words, motherly. She doesn't lecture Laeolyja about staying up too late or not eating his vegetables, but she croons lullabies at bedtime and will painstakingly groom any patch of his hide that she thinks has been overlooked. Somehow she manages to walk the line between motherly and annoying without ever crossing into behavior that Laeolyja doesn't actually enjoy.
