Though calmer and less troubled by the world than his local brother Vishal, Beliss has exchanged a lack of self-confidence for a lack of trust in others. His family and those who have always been around him as he's grown (other residents of the Nidus) are a thankful exception, but he is hesitant and prickly with strangers. He assumes the worst, that those unfamiliar with his family and upbringing will assume the worst of him, and thus always starts out on the defensive. He rejects the idea that this a hypocritical manner of behavior, all out of the fear of being hurt.

It is only around his immediate family that Beliss really relaxes and lets his true self show to its fullest. This is around his fathers of course, but recently he's found himself with the opportunity for even more than them: his aunt, Nairyg, currently clutching up in one of the bays of the Abstract Destiny. This means he has an uncle as well, in the form of her mate Tnalexan, and he is eager to get to know the both of them and the brood of cousins they're currently incubating. Beliss is an inquisitive young hydra at his core, wanting to explore and investigate everything about the world around him, but feeling that he does not have the freedom to because of what he is.
