Name:Iaveran Sandfire
Age:54
Sex:Male
Species:Elf
Height:6'2"
Residence:Nidus Caeligenus
Occupation:Farmer
Abilities:
Extended Lifespan
Iaveran's kind live approximately 750 years. They are considered young adults at age 50, and not considered independent until at least their first century.
Reverie
Elves do not sleep, but enter a trance in which they can become fully rested while remaining fully aware of their surroundings. Four hours of reverie are equivalent to a human's eight hours of sleep.
Description:

Iaveran is tall, willowy of build, with pale skin and rich, chocolate brown hair kept in a short ponytail at the nape of his neck. His eyes are also dark, being forest green in color. For those who happen to like pretty men, Iaveran could indeed be considered such, but by his people's standards he's a bit long in the nose and jaw. He dresses in clothes of warm colors, bold patterns, and loose fit, which are traditional for his clan of desert-native elves.

Personality:

Iaveran is a kind and earnest young man. Though raised by very traditional parents, he is as laid-back as they are sticklers for custom and tradition. His emotions are, for the most part, plain and simple, easy to read from mood to mood, and his enthusiasm is especially noteworthy -- when he's excited about something, his eyes light up, and he acts like he's twenty-four instead of fifty-four.

Despite this plainness, Iaveran is unexpectedly secretive, skilled at keeping said secrets from all but the most insightful. He doesn't lie if he can help it, but he dodges the truth around a certain issue: the girl he loves. Somewhere along the years of hanging out with his mixed-species little crew, the halfling Regan gently stole his heart. Though his love for her is as pure as his other emotions -- he is very much a gentleman, and there are some elvish customs that are well-ingrained in him -- he has no intention of ever acting on it, and for years has been at a stalemate of putting his "crush" out of his mind. He suffers from one of the most classic cases of indecision: fear of ruining their friendship, upsetting the dynamic of their group, and declaring they're incompatible anyway due to their species and cultural upbringing.

Besides, they're all refugees now, essentially homeless and with young dragons to take care of. There are much more serious priorities to be worried about... right?

Biography:

Iaveran and his friends (Araaye, Dorian, Regan, Sel) were all born and raised on the space station called Star City, where common circumstances and shared interests bonded them all into a tight, if eclectic, group. Although for a fairly ridiculous reason (moral support for Regan bonding a plant-dragon when her parents told her the only living thing she could bring into the house was a plant), they unanimously decided to stand for dragon-bonding at different places across the Nexus and proceeded to do so. Four of them succeeded before calamity: the infestation of Star City by vast numbers of xenodragons.

They, like many other inhabitants of the City, were evacuated, and it was simple happenstance that they were among the many taken aboard by the Abstract Destiny when it worked in concert with native craft to help save as many as possible. Some families had further places to escape to, other planets or stations where safety could be found, but others were less fortunate and left homeless among the vastness of space. Thankfully, the Destiny had no intentions of forcing out anyone with no place to go, and so they remain aboard the ship as they explore their options -- including the discussions that Doctor Schroeder wishes to see to the founding of a Nidus for them all.
