Vios has a vicious temper and is quick to take offense at the slightest thing. He never goes looking for a fight, but the unfotunate truth is that he just has very poor self-restraint and his first reaction to being angered is to resort to violence, like a person who goes straight for the face-punch when startled by a perceived threat, except Vios is just... angry. He doesn't particularly like hurting people, he just seems to think that pain is the best teacher there is for telling people they've done something wrong and to never do it again.

When he's not angry, Vios isn't too bad a guy. He's not outgoing or gushy in friendship, but he's the type that doesn't mind striking random conversations with strangers and he's willing enough to lend a hand to friends -- or even just acquaintances -- in need. Those that know him consider him reliable, though tolerance for his attitude of course varies.

Sunny, warm, and temperate... Lantessama Isle was a great many things Nidus Caeligenus was not in the environmental sense, but there was one thing they could be said to have in common now: they were both places that Vios had become a father.

People weren't inclined to look at him and think "father material", but this would be the third time for him. His temper was infamous and he had a reputation for lashing out. He could claim that it worked. People that Vios lashed with his claws rarely came back for a second round of whatever had made him mad in the first place. Pain was an effective teacher and deterrent against irritating behaviors.

Vios had never lashed out at any of his children though. Children just... didn't make him angry. You expected children to do stupid things. It was different with adults, but children? Children were stupid. You couldn't get mad at a kid for being stupid.

He watched his little yellow son from his last clutch, Aleusk, run away from the crashing waves of the Lantessama Bay for what was probably the sixteenth time.

::Loud!:: exclaimed the hatchling's mind in his own, feet all coated in sandy boots as he fled back up the shoreline. ::Wet!::

Aleusk was only just beginning to grasp proper worded language. Vios snorted at the little fool, lowering his head to nudge his own snout against Aleusk's as his son came looking for comfort yet again. ::Yes, just like last time. It's still the ocean.::

::Ocean!:: Aleusk repeated, blue eyes wide as he continued to attach meaning to the word, background thoughts swirling wordlessly with awe and fascination. And sure enough, thirty seconds later, back down the sands the yellow went a-creeping, seemingly determined to find the moment in which the crash of waves wouldn't startle him for a change.

Little idiot, Vios snorted in his own mind, even as he felt something like warm pride deep in his chest, watching his son try over and over again to get over his bred-in skittishness. You need a proper pack around you.

Thankfully they'd only have to wait a little longer for that. Maybe Aleusk would have even conquered his fear-fascination of the water by then.
