Lernaea is a cheerful creature, somewhat emotionally out of place among the other monsters of her pod, though she isn't shunned or looked down upon for it. The feral "monsters" care only that she is a productive hunter and loyal defender of their group, and since she is both of these, her place in their ranks remains assured.

Despite her pleasant nature among her companions, Lernaea is wary and suspicious of outsiders, especially of their notions of good and evil, and of how Scylla and Charybdis are often perceived by civilized creatures. She is wise to the ways of the "outside world" as her podmates are not, and has self-designated herself as their defender against the civilized worlds that they are incapable of understanding.

• Lernaea is one of the podmates who interacts with the ‘civilized’ peoples of the Warren far more often than her fellows. She likes living off the metaphorical grid, sure, but someone needs to stay familiar with what goes on elsewhere in the Nexus, just in case.
• Iberali glides through the pod’s territory, looking for a particular few of its members, but encounters Lernaea first. Accosted by the demon serpent, she is asked to explain her purpose before continuing on, and tells Lernaea of the upcoming frenzy.
