| Personality: | As fierce and short-tempered as any Hathian red, the hydra legacy of insanity manifests in Vesad as dysphemia, more commonly known as stuttering. The disorder is not as simple as an inability to speak, however, for it also includes fear of the sounds and words that are most difficult for him to speak, as well as fear of the situations that make him anxious and only worsen his stuttering. He sticks to telepathy when at all possible but is only capable of transmitting the most basic of sensations and emotions this way, and he dreads any instance where he needs the detail of words to communicate something. His short temper only worsens his predicament, as the more frustrated he get, the worse his stuttering becomes, angering him further and further until he can't do anything but choke on meaningless syllables. Despite his short temper, though, Vesad is hardly evil. He's not even chaotic, as his swings into the fouler depths of his temper are fairly predictable and he never attacks without provocation. The crossbreed isn't nice but he is easy enough to live with as long as he isn't antagonized -- and few on the Destiny are of the demeanor to do so. Vesad is content to ignore those who ignore him in turn. His bond, Mihaly'tyan, is incredibly dear to him. As is often the case, his bond turned out to be exactly the kind of companion Vesad needed. Mihaly helps balance out his temper, distracts him from irritations before they completely derail him, and helps voice the thoughts he struggles to put into words when he decides he needs (wants) the help. Mihaly has given him someone who he knows, without a doubt, does not judge him for his bloodline and is glad of his existence. They are rarely apart, and never for long. |
