Vella has tanned skin and thick black hair that needs to be tied back lest it get into everything she does. Her eyes are dark brown, but are flecked with glints of icy blue when she stands under bright light. Like her half-elven father, Vella has pointed ears, but like her human mother, she has a stouter body.
Vella is fond of her more whimsical heritage, and so she likes to wear furs and braided patterns on her clothing whenever possible. Since she's grown up in a mountainous region that gets snowy winters, this suits her very well. Vella also has pierced ears, and has a number of earrings she doesn't go without even if her mother won't allow her to get her entire, pointed lobes piered. Instead, she shows off polished fossils dangling from precious gold wire.

Vella is a very proud girl, though she has a fairly narrow focus on life. She enjoys being a princess of her own home, and her mother is apt to humour her. Vella has fine skills when it comes to counting and maths, and may one day prove to be an excellent appraiser for details and value. She picked these skills up while watching the keepers of the town of Prism Falls deal with traders coming in from other parts of the continent. She is not the most popular among her peer group, though that might be because she is a homebody and a wallflower, but she is exceptionally good at watching and learning.
