CURRENT CLUTCH

Clutch #1

Feyesta's Chameleon Shifters

Silver Chameleon Queen, Feyesta, is gracing Nidus Descendi's sands with her first clutch. These Danachian/Dracanian/Sevar Skai hybrid eggs have been checked by medics and all appear to be viable, with an exceptionally hardy constitution.

Feyesta has requested Novos who are interested in a bond that can bear them through thick and thin. These young dragonets are expected to grow up with capabilities that lend them towards shock troops, scouts, spies, and hunters... though they may determine some other path for themselves and their bond that genetics has not pre-determined for them. Their colours are expected to lean towards Danachian, Pernese, and Sevar Skai Breed #2 hues, meaning earthen tones are expected more than brighter colours. Those dragons that do not choose to bond to offworlders will remain at Nidus Descendi.

Clutch-Specific Rules

  1. Create a webpage for a character who will serve to bond the dragonet. This will be your "novo".
  2. Novos must be small enough to ride with their dragon. This is a somewhat traditional clutch, so bipedal humanoids will receive precedence.
  3. Please read the rules page before you submit your character.
  4. Please submit your novo no later than June 30th. The clutch was delayed due to IRL circumstances, but should still hatch in early July.

ONGOING CLUTCH

Old Blood Frenzy

Nexus Drift Disaster!

After the clutches had been laid, Shintaru Weyr went into a period of quiet, lost from the Nexus forever. Given that there had been dozens of eggs hardening in the sands at the time, it was considered a tragic loss... until very recently! Time elapses strangely in the Nexus, so when only the eggs were found in the abandoned Weyr, a huge relief effort was made to bring them somewhere safe.

Nidus Descendi, with its cavernous sands currently unoccupied by any dragons, volunteered to host the refugee eggs. An effort was made to keep each clutch with its clutchmates, but many of those retrieved were jumbled. Only the dragonets know who there mothers really were!

With so many eggs needing hatching, Nidus Descendi is putting out a call for those with bonding-aged teens and adults to visit, circulate among the eggs, and help with the Nidus. Descendi has also only recently returned from a period of isolation in the mists of the Drift, and is the worse for wear because of it.

Novos are expected to pitch in with turning the eggs, hauling food and supplies from elsewhere in the Nexus to the kitchens and storehouses at Nidus Descendi, and practicing their skills if they have specialties to contribute. Some impromptu training for a future life on the wing will challenge Novos in the form of helping to build staircases and bridges carved between individual cave systems that sprawl throughout the mountainous Nidus. For those afraid of heights, there are other options for apprenticeship while awaiting a bond.

Clutch-Specific Rules

  1. Owners of an Old Blood Frenzy flight participant (List of Participants & Pairings here,) may claim one 'free' dragonet to return home with their parent. Owners may make colour or theme requests but may not request the exact dragonet.
  2. Everyone may have two 'free' random dragonets chosen from within the pool of all possible dragonets. This refreshes with each "wave" of hatchings.
  3. All dragonets require a bond. Freebies are given a randomized human bond.
  4. Written novos take precedence over freebies, so if there is a contest over a specific dragon, the written story will break the tie. Any number of novos are welcome in each "wave" of hatchings. Those with written characaters may choose a specific colour, gender, and/or clutch, as found on the Pickup Page, but may not specify the exact dragonet.
  5. Higher ranking dragons are generally reserved for written characters. (Eg: Golds and Bronzes as well as equivalent ranks in other colours.)
  6. Written novos should consist of pre-made stats pages and/or stories, and are 'ranked' where a stats page is more likely to get a mid-rank dragon (Eg: Brown and equivalent ranks) whereas those with stories are more likely to get higher ranking dragons.
  7. Exceptions to this are based on owner request: if you write a story for a novo who you would prefer bonded a lower ranking dragon, please specify!
  8. Hatchings will occur in waves, where once a certain number of novos and freebie spots are claimed, those dragonets will hatch, and a new wave will begin taking in novos. OOCly, this gives me time to write and update behind-the-scenes site maintenance. ICly, each wave happens within a very short time of one another. Size of each wave depends on interest versus time elapsed.
  9. Once most of the dragonets are bonded, the remainder will be opened up to freebie sponsorships. Most likely the last 1/6th or so, though I may change this depending on interest.
