Marie's got some natural charm magic that overlays a sense of health, vitality, and beauty that isn't quite there. It rounds out her straight angles and adds lustre to her reddish orange hair, which does naturally fall to mid-back in one straight wave. Her face (naturally a little angular) appears heart-shaped to most, with cupid-bow red lips, a slender nose, and wide, unnaturally expressive deep green eyes. Her charming wiles allow her to communicate exactly what she's feeling by expression alone to most, though those who can see through the magic may have a harder time.

Marie has had several cyborware body modifications that she obtained as a younger woman living on Star City space station, which still work reasonably well. They are all highly cosmetic to help enhance her appearance for those who can see her charms, and to hide her flaws for those who can't. She's had conventional alterations to her breasts and behind, to lips and nose, along with a highly sensitive nano-organic makeup bots that shift with light levels and a telepathic interface for whatever the occasion demands. When she lived on the station, she wore flowing green and blue robes, that put her perfectly in the middle of socials and networking parties. Now, at Nidus Descendi, she tends to wear simpler clothing and practical riding leathers. She still loves to party, but she's more subdued about her looks now.

When disaster came to Star City, Marie was unprepared for the reality of injured dragons pouring into the hospital where she was taking her internship. The young woman was traumatized, and wound up panicking in a way that caused a lot of trouble for herself and others in the midst of the emergency. She was packed off with other evacuees after she was determined unable to help, and lost contact with her rich parents when she wound up at Nidus Descendi.

For a while she and her bond Kakanorii were helpless, not in control of anything in their lives. Only the kindness of strangers that would become friends helped them out of their mutual funk... and after that, Marie realized that she couldn't get by on looks alone.

Since then, she's been studying with the help of practical teachers and she makes a mediocre medic... but she is very good at making friends. Marie is more subdued but her charm makes her easy to like, and so she often takes the role of a nurse helping to soothe and distract anyone that a head healer is doing direct work on.

For the most part, she's happy, too, though she misses the days when Marie was at her social pinacle. She was so traumatized by the fall of Star City, though, that she can't access those memories without freezing up... this is part of the reason that she spends so much time sun-dozing. Kakanorii is not lazy, though she's occasionally been called that by those who only see her surface.
