Ibbluan's appearance is a dead giveaway for her unusual heritage. Though she is humanoid in shape, a splay of cream and gold feathers grows from two muscled tufts at her back. This splay can be raised or lowered at will, though its prominence is usually linked to the intensity of her emotions. Ibbluan's cream-coloured, kinky hair is cropped short, but plays host to a tiara of bone horns: the central crest protrudes forward, while two points on either side jut backwards. Ibbluan's skin is a rich, creamy brown colour, and is marked on legs and arms with bands of naturally golden chevrons. She has a muscular build, and her humanoid body is complemented by a long, lanky tail that can be used just as dexterously as a hand. |

Ibbluan is not an attention-seeker, however, her etherreal musical accompaniment often causes issues in that people will try to find the source and wind up in awkward conversation with her when they realize that it is a person, and not an instrument that has drawn their attention. Because of this, she takes chance meetings with strangers in stride.
Raised predominantly by her mother, but with frequent visits from her draconic, shape-shifting father, Ibbluan has had a more or less liberal upbringing around the Nidus. Her most watchful mentor has actually been a brown Pernese dragon -- her mother's bond, Legyrith. The massive beast, usually aloof with others, has taken Ibbluan under his wing in hopes of training her to appreciate perfection in life, and because of this, Ibbluan has taken up mathematical and theoretical studies as she's grown into her teens. Astronomy has been a favourite subject, though more for the physics behind the dance of the planets, rather than the reachability of those planets.
Ibbluan has a touch of wanderlust that hasn't yet been sated by sojourns through the mountains. Most of her peers bonded the moment they hit puberty, but she managed to push her own bonding until quite late into her teens by confounding adults with her part-dragon nature.
Eventually she did bond, though not at the Nidus. She found the Nexus and eventually paired off with the the elusive but ultimately very loyal Dorath. Now, in her early twenties, it's been an entirely new take on life that her friends are all well used to. In more ways than one, Ibbluan remains feeling a little between worlds but at least her bond is happy to bridge that gap as a staunch friend. |
