When Ibbie was young, she worked in a Pernese trader caravan, and she still recalls her time there fondly. She wears the many copper and sea-shell bangles from that time period around her wrists and ankles to remind her of home. She keeps herself properly groomed at all times, wearing clothing comprised of reds and whites and yellows. Her voice is rich and she knows how to modulate it well to evince friendship and camaraderie.

Since she was searched and bonded Legyrith, Ibbie has transferred between many different Weyrs, and she's employed the same attitude. Her bond is not the easiest to get along with, but between the pair of them, she's helped to whip many recently graduated Weyrlings into line to work as a flawless team with their Wing.

Ibbie's secret to happiness comes from her impeccable sense of habit and routine. Wherever she is, and whatever she's doing, she goes through the same steps in her day. She also has habits of double and triple checking her work when she's alone or with Legyrith. The pair have since come to an understanding about Ibbie's easy level of intimacy with others; when he was younger, the Brown was a little jealous of her ability to share her deep thoughts and body with other humans. Since he's gotten into a mating flight or two, he understands a little better. Ibbie has come to accept that Legyrith will never be skilled (or much interested) in the art of small talk and easy humour, and the pair of them have realized that their 'carrot and stick' attitude towards other dragonriders works surprisingly well.

Ibbie's flirtations have only gone far enough to leave her with child once thus far; she isn't interested in raising children, and so she's taken her own measures to prevent pregnancies... but with one handsome traveler she met in her time off of Pern, she was willing to make an exception. Ibbie's daughter, Ibbluan, is since grown and with a dragon of her own, but Ibbie formed a light connection with her more like an aunt than a mother in that time. The pair have wound up at Nidus Descendi together and have a closer friendship in adulthood than when Ibbluan was a child, which Ibbie is finding validating enough that she's considering other children... so long as there is a foster system in the Nidus for the rearing of the very young.

Legyrith is a focused perfectionist who also demands perfection from those around him. He gains value from doing something well, and seeing progress in those he takes it upon himself to whip into shape. He uses a combination of very dry humour and cutting words to show both disdain and tiny nuggets of approval. His work with wayward Weyrlings has been the thing he's most benefited by; seeing the difference between what they were capable of before he by turns cajoled and bullied them into is extremely satisfying for this dragon.

Legyrith's relationship with Ibbie started off rocky; he was jealous of her easy attitude. He's since come to appreciate how she softens up the riders of the dragons he's working with. More often than not, they are willing to give his strictures a second chance because Ibbie's convinced their riders that it's worth a try. Her approval and tutelage of riders covers the gaps in Legyrith's training of dragons by dint of telepathic link.
