D'leck is a plain man, a little barrel-shaped but not without muscle. He's got warm brown skin and pale freckles, short, sandy-brown hair, and is at the moment clean-shaven. He goes through periods in which he grows a full beard, once every few years. Then he remembers the texture and he's back to clean-shaven in a hurry.
D'leck is and has always been a working man, and that shows in his weathered face and calloused hands. He fancies himself a bit of a philospher, an abstract thinker, and a clever wit, but he doesn't look it at first glance. His voice is loud and uncowed, and he can bellow very well from dragon-back.

Personality: |
As mentioned above, D'leck is a man built for power, in the physical sense, and he lives up to it. He is clever, but he's also arrogant and sometimes quite narrow-minded. To this day, he will say that Mondriel followed him into the world of bonding dragons and becoming dragonriders, which she usually ignores in favour of the fact that she is his senior in rank and there is very little that he can do or say that will offend her anymore.
D'leck was a bossy kid. He was eldest of a passel of farm kids living outside of Darkling Dawn, and he had to be more stubborn than the animals that they kept. He was good at it, too, and he ordered his siblings around, making sure that everyone knew what they needed to do, and twisting their ear if they didn't do it. He always figured that since his mother was weakened from an illness some years after he'd been born, he needed to help keep things reined in.
Eventually, a search rider came by their farm stake and flagged several of the children for candidacy, though D'leck remaiend behind to ensure that younger siblings grew into their rolls. Once he was certain that they had that under control, he finally gave in to the urge to explore, and met Wareth.
From that point on, they both traveled, though D'leck felt uneasy about going it alone. Wareth noticed this before D'leck did, and guided them conscientiously towards a more sustainable place to live: Nidus Descendi. With his sister already well ensconced there as a queen rider, D'leck was fasttracked to immigrate. Since then, he's been causing minor havoc trying to pull strings and make Mondriel remember her place, but Wareth reins him in when he notices Mondriel's bond is getting ready to squash him.
