Between her and her mate, Fortesco, Shaoi'zi is the brains of the operation, namely because she's the only one who realized there was an operation to begin with. She doesn't just navigate the waters of their territory -- she also navigates people, creatures, and circumstances. Deeply calculating and possessive, Shaoi'zi views the world as something to be manipulated in her favor... and Fortesco gets to benefit by association. She has a sharp, condescending wit and very little patience for anyone who can't keep up with her mental gymnastics. Except for him. Most of the time.

She isn't "evil" in a grand, world-ending sense, though. She's just transactional. Every "kind" gesture is a deposit into a favor bank she intends to collect on later with very high interest. Her primary project, however, is her mate. She treats Fortesco a little less like a partner and rather more like a highly effective, biological multi-tool with the ability to summon and banish things at will. She keeps him fed, praised, and pointed in the right direction, ensuring his "dog-like" loyalty is applied exactly where it benefits her most. Her affections towards him are condescending, but also possessive. He is hers, and she has no intention of taking any others to her nest.
