Though few average Nexus humanoids would likely look at Dreel and assume her to be a youngling due to her size, Dreel is young indeed, perhaps the equivalent of a human eight-year-old. She's bright and curious, loving to stick her nose into new experiences, but as a wild-living creature she's not so reckless as children of a more civilized lifestyle might get. The ocean depths are unforgiving, no matter whether one has leviathan guardians and safe shallows to return to or not. Her curiosity is tempered by caution and a very real awareness that one wrong move could see her turned into a meal for something even larger than herself.
That being said, her youth also makes her much more adaptable to more civilized Nexus ways. Humanoids are fascinating, as are dragons that can fly! Although she's perfectly capable of venturing out of water, it's a vulnerable and awkward state so she rarely risks it. Oh but does she enjoy conversing with land-bound creatures at the shoreline!
