Väkivalta is driven by curiosity more than ambition. She has little interest in conquering -- outside of the prerogative to bear herself a strong next generation, of course -- and instead prefers to observe moments where power and choice intersect. She treats the world like a series of unfolding case studies: people at their most honest or desperate are far more interesting to her than people at their strongest. This makes her unnervingly attentive, especially in places where lives hang in the balance.

She presents herself as polite, even gently charming, but there is always an underlying sense that she is humoring those around her rather than truly engaging with them. Väkivalta rarely interferes directly unless something catches her personal interest, as she has a strong sense of boundaries where family and declared companions are concerned, but on the whole she feels no obligation to be helpful, merciful, or even predictable. She is not openly cruel, but lacks sympathy in the conventional sense. Suffering is not something she seeks out, but she doesn't feel compelled to prevent it, either.
