Young Aeta is a wiry daemon, thin and gangly with little muscle to be seen, but no end of sprightly energy. His humanlike face is most often smiling and accompanied by the impish glint in his lemon-yellow eyes. His hide is a dusty orange color, shifting into a muddy brown on his right ear, forearms, and digitigrade feet, and marked with stripes of the same on the outer sides of his arms and legs. Though his hide appears smooth, it is actually covered with miniscule scales which are soft to the touch. Two small, bony spikes grow from each of his shoulders and a single true horn, beige in color, curls from his forehead, almost shrouded in the mud-brown mess of his fluffy hair. Though he possesses wings, they are misshapen and useless: his wingspan only equals the span of his arms, and their digits are perhaps only a third as long as they should be, with very little brown leather between them.

He typically dresses in one-piece outfits, with knee- or full-length legs, but sleeveless and backless, fastening around his neck so his wings have freedom to move. A single bit of jewelry hangs about his neck: the large canine tooth of a Caetran, its base wrapped in a ring of silvery metal and attached to a chain of the same.

Aeta and his much-admired sister Akija used to be joined at the hip, their feisty natures turning them into total terrors when each had the other around to play off of, but the divergence of Akija's life from his own has tempered him. Between the two of them, he always was the one with a greater conscience and self-restraint, but he sought his sister's approval more than that of anyone else and pushed himself to try to be like her.

Aeta is a cheerful and friendly lad, though not as alike to his sister as it once seemed. In truth, he is insecure and a little jealous of his charismatic, outgoing sister. When he shows a bit of bravado like she does, it's usually because he's trained himself to act like that, rather than naturally possessing such a gutsy attitude. He loves Akija dearly and strives to emulate her as much as he can -- his primarily motivation for sneaking off to bond! -- but can't help feeling a little envious and disappointed each time his beloved sister outshines him just a little bit more. She's the first daemon to ever bond at Sanctuary, she's survived the claws of an angry Caetran, she was the first Watcher to go offworld to a place called Star City... how can he ever compare with all that?

Bonding to shy little Onis, however, has helped Aeta begin to accept that he is not his sister. Akija bonded to her perfect match: a bright, outgoing Fire dragon. Aeta bonded a shy, timid Water dragon -- also a perfect match. Though he still can't help but envy his sister's sometimes-legendary life, even in its dangerous moments, Aeta is coming to see that it's time for him to craft his own life, rather than continue to try and ride along in Akija's.
