Hey Ty, have those Lians that I've got elf candidates for hatched yet? I looked back through the Sunrise Council messages but I didn't see any indication they had.

Shard, the Lians hatched with the last hatching at Ryslen, cuz that's when I got mine. Here's the link, the lians are kinda mixed through the whole thing

it was in the updates thread, not the group

Yeah... ^_^;; sorry about that. My graymatter somehow got replaced with dirty unflavored gelatin, and I'm really incredibly scatterbrained...

And I'm worse than usual about updating. I really have no desire to do the coding, and I don't care for the way Frontpage puts things together.

All of the non-Flurry eggs at Ryslen have hatched, despite what the pages might show.

Okays, yes. :) I have all mine up now anyway. I completely glossed on them, I might have entirely forgotten about it. :/

I think I was working on another couple Flurriers for you too. :D

Still plenty of eggs... like sixty...

And 12 days until the Deadline.

This will hatch before the Spring Equinox, regardless.

I'm working on a pair... but they're intimidating me. XD Every get a great story idea in your head, and get all worried you can't do it justice? Yeah, I'm fighting that right now. XD

OMG! That is totally the case with me! The more I like a story the more I pre-think it out (most of my stories are fairly spontaneous) and then I get all worried and don't want to write it because I'm afraid I'll ruin it! XD That is one of the reasons my last Flurry candidate is stalling... I really love the character idea but am afraid that I've not done the story quite properly and that it won't turn out great...

Oh yeah, sure. :D I'm up to nine bonders, I think. I'll post a link to the candidates list (with clickable links and all that jazz) in just a few minutes. (After I assemble it, of course.)

I have the *end* of a story, but not the beginning. I have my pretty little couple standing out in the middle of a snowstorm, trudging slowly toward the glittering lights in the distance that it Ryslen (Would it glitter from far away? In a storm? Please?) but not the beginning, aka the important bit.

Thinking about sending you some russian-esqu ice princess from TEH UNAMED VORLD OV DOOM!

Please excuse my senseless mangeling of the english language, for I am sleep-deprived and high offa RAW COMPUTER PART SMELL! *sniffs*

Sure! Ryslen can glitter with lights. :)

Russian-esque, hmm? My sister took Russian last semester... If you write her and my sister likes the story, I'll give you extra credit points. Or maybe a Lian. Or both.

The list of received Flurry Novos is here -- http://www.geocities.com/ryslen_flurry/05-Novos.html -- and is up to date for everything I have. I've only read one of the stories so far, but I'll get to them all in the near future.

Wheee! Novo list... I'm so gonna read them all later, if I find the time... And I'm glad you got Rashilo... I was gonna check to see if you'd got the email... *paranoid about emails going astray*

Maybe I'll write another one, if I can come up with another idea... Rashilo sorta drained most of my creative energy for the time being...

._. I was excited to write my reply, but then I lost my inspiration after waiting for so long for a reply to a PM I sent you, asking about something--I can't remember what, I think I just wanted a quick desc of what Ryslen's surrounding area looked like.

>.O With school being such a dork right now, I don't think I'll have time to pick up again and finish in time. I'm probably going to have to sit this one out.

What's her malfunction?

So... I think I've been complaining often enough and long enough that everybody knows my computer is a piece of wher dung.

Well, I was talking to my grandfather today (he's been tinkering with computers since he retired, oh, ten or twelve years ago) and we theorized that part of my problem might be that the 4 GB harddrive in my computer (which is about seven years old) is 3/4 full. Full drives don't always work so well.

So he gave me another harddrive to put into my system.

... Now the accursed thing won't turn on.

So why am I posting about this in the Flurry thread?

Because all the scanned drawings, the snowflakes, and 11/12 of the colored Flurry Lian Minis are trapped on the small drive in that computer.

I can re-scan everything, but I'd have to redesign the snowflakes and then the ones I have finished ... wouldn't match the others. (I have Maaari and Pheldion's babies uploaded to Photobucket, and Glitzer and Soyokaze's almost-finished babies, and -one- of the Lian minis. The Diamond one.)

There's a possibility that I jostled something loose or hooked somthing back up wrong, but ... I'm sunk either way. I can get online (as you can see) from the family PC (or my brother's computer if this one goes down) and I can still work on the flight story and accept candidates...

but I don't have access to Adobe Photoshop now, except at my sister's place...

I'm so frustrated and angry right now... >.<

To recap: Ty's computer has probably died. The Flurry will go on as planned, candidates are still being accepted... but it might take longer than planned.

Yoikes!! Does the new hard drive have an operating system installed on it? If your old one can be hooked up to a new *working* computer briefly you could at least move stuff from one to another that way. Even if the OS on it isn't working, you should be able to access it UNLESS it's actually broken.

:( I'm so sorry! Boo for small hard drives...

4 GB...laptop or desktop? If it's desktop I'm going to feel really weird saying I have 467 GB on my computer...and still have 374 left after all the crap I've put on it...(InuYasha episodes, music...games...that kind of stuff) Oh...need to put RotK back on it! *faceplam*

Ouch, a 4 GB hard drive? I thought I had it rough with my 40 GB, but with a system that old, I can understand. Is there a way you can access your old drive on another system, preferably one with dual hard drive capabilities? That way the computer won't be dying due to lack of virtual memory, which given that your old drive didn't have the space to use as RAM, might be the reason why your computer was having problems.

And there's nothing like 256 MB of RAM to make you realize that Winamp, Windows Explorer, Word, and 4 instances of FireFox with 9 tabs each just isn't going to run on your system. x.x My computer and I love Opera and Notepad now, yes we do. *pats her angry Moki fondly*

I think my old laptop had about 4 gb on it. I thought I was in fat city when I got this new one with 60 gb, lol. I'm really sorry to hear that though! That must be really, really frustrating! If you need any help and happen to be near Boulder, CO, I know about 40 people who are excellent at fixing computers ... maybe send me a PM explaining exactly what's wrong and I'll see if anyone knows what to do about it? I'm a software geek, unfortunately, so I won't be too much help, but the fact that, like, ALL my friends are in electrical-computer engineering has to count for something.

Frustrating doesn't begin to cover it.

Yes, it was a 4GB harddrive on a desktop PC -- it's an ancient machine, and was bottom-of-the-line when I got it....

However...

My computer is back up and running (a miracle) though not exactly the way it was before.

The problem I was having seemed to have been caused by a faulty cable. Replacing it with one salvaged from a scrap computer solved that problem.

Of course the very next thing it did was start up and say that the Primary Master Drive had Failed...

With Dad's help (once M&D were back from their bowling league, he was moving the cables... I'd already gotten to the "I don't know what to do anymore" stage by the time they got here.) the drives were rearranged and somehow everything worked... after a fashion, anyway.

The old drive (silver, 4GB) is now the slave drive, and the new drive (black, 20GB) is the master. Fortunately for me, Win98 was present on the drive that came from Grandfather, else all hope may have been lost.

I've upgraded (hah.) the OS to WinME -- which I'm used to running. I don't own NT or anything better -- and have made shortcuts to where the applications all still exist in running order on the silver drive.

The modem and network card, however, are not currently recognized, so I'll have to figure that out...

But my computer is back up, and no files were lost, and there was much rejoicing. 'Cept I'm still limited to the family PC for Internet-at-home for the time being... C'est la vie.

This is good news, however! I'm glad your files weren't lost. :: hugs ::

As for the miracle that is not a miracle that is the internets... I praise when mine works.

http://www.geocities.com/ryslen_flurry/05-Pairs.html

I've finalized the listing of dragons who flew in the Flurry. Maybe I'll write a flight. Heh. There are some that were not listed until tonight, so check it out. (Drop me a PM or email or whatev' if there's a pairing you'd like your already-sent-in novo to bond offspring from.)

I'm also going to be keeping track of what's done on there -- obviously I'm not ready to hatch it yet.

After looking around I have to say I'm a bit confused--are you still accepting candidates? I haven't actually seen a concrete deadline-date anywhere, unless I'm just blind. Which is entirely possible. >.>

I think so, you should try. Last count was pretty low for candidates and she's got a ton of dragons! :)

I always seem to end up with more eggs than I initially planned... *grins* Everyone sent in awesome dragons this year, and it was really difficult to decide who was 'in' and who wasn't.

So, yes. I'm still accepting candidates.

And while we're at it:

Final Candidate Submission Deadline: February 28th, Midnight. (12:00:01 am, March 1st.)

That'll give me just under three weeks (max) to get the hatching together. This thing -will- hatch before the Equinox.

Good news: All of the Flurry dragons are colored and uploaded

Bad news: I don't have half of the pairings made, so the mega-clutch-of-doom isn't hatching yet. Or the Flurry.

So, let the Great Assigning begin! *scurries off*
