ABOUT CASTLE TIMARA
Basics

Castle Timara is located atop a mesa that juts out over lush tropical forest. It's sheltered by a soaring mountain range composed of ancient volcanic activity. The castle led by High Princess Ocusa, who has a strange secret. She and her creator, Ichafore, are from another world rich with technological advancement. Their draks, however, wished to return home to a world where such knowledge was forbidden. So, the two of them (along with Knights willing to keep their offworld secret) founded this secluded Castle. Though they hide their advancements from the locals, they strive to bring the fundamentals of mathematical theorums and basic engineering advanacements to their protectorate with what supplies the forest, the mountains, and their new allies can provide.

Castle Timara is a part of a ring of dragon adoption websites, which can be found on Planet Icarus. To participate in adopting a drak from Timara, you must read the rules, create a webpage with an aspirant willing to bond, and submit them via the Deep Caverns form. Writing stories for your aspirant is optional, but highly encouraged to help them bond their best match.

Lavelefa Island (Castle Timara)

Castle Timara
Some locals call the landmass that Castle Timara is built upon Lavelefa Island, and the High Knights have chosen to take that as the official area name. Timara is built into a plateau overlooking the north-eastern jungle and ocean beyond Lavelefa. It is currently in the process of building, and so far is mostly utilizing wood hewn from the jungles below. Basalt blocks local to the mountains in hues of black with flecks of gold and stripes of malachite green are slowly replacing the temporary wooden buildings.
Known for: Engineering know-how, diverse knights and draks.

Caboolerie
A small port village with very little of interest, save for its tours of Nex Necii tunnels that have long-since been wiped out. Buildings are partially dug into the ground to avoid the excessive heat.
Known for: Adventure spelunking, mining of opalized fossils from deeper into the desert north-west of town.

Granvyn
An island village (really, a spread of tiny villages built by extended family groups), Granvyn focuses almost entirely on fishing and aquaculture. This includes keeping the passage between it and the north-west island clear of coral-like growth for safe ship travel, but it also includes pearl diving and tracking patterns of the sea in the area. There are particular aquatic beasts that occasionally migrate to the area of the southern islands to feast on the plethora of sea life on their oceanic journeys, which the folk living here treat as omens of good fortune. Each village is composed of a few smaller family dwellings and a larger hall, though the only time these are used is for sleep, to keep out of the frequent rain, and for important ceremonies. Travel between islands is done by raft, skiff or canoe.
Known for: Pearls, aquatic sight-seeing, aquatic husbandry.

Kaito
The main port city in Lavelefa, Kaito is built into the steep slopes overlooking a beautiful beach and deep harbours. The oldest locations in Kaito are dug directly into the cliff-sides, while newer constructions are white-washed, wind-admitting buildings, most with one wall backed into the side of the cliff. The main street is long and zig-zags up the hill from the docks to the temple-like structure at the very top. This temple is said to have warded away the worst of the city's dangers for generations.
Known for: Tropical tourism, fishing, nature-based faith worship.

Manutili
Hidden deep within the rainforest, residents of Manutili have only put themselves on the map because they are a gathering place for different villages across the island which wish to remain anonymous across the larger stage of Icarus. They are located on a rise in the earth not quite high enough to be considered proper hills, but when the canopy is cleared away around them, allows signal fires to be visible all the way to Castle Timara. In this way, Manutili can quickly summon the help of an Armada without having to send a runner.

Manutili is composed of beautifully crafted permanent wooden structures that allow for great airflow as well as shelter from pouring rain. There is one well-known cave near the base of the town that is said to be haunted by the spirits of vengeful nex neciium. A trained cave tender is the only soul allowed to travel within. Over the course of generations, many unsettling stories have come from this cave... but so have a very specific variety of mushroom, and spirits distilled with it.
Known for: Urban diplomatic hub for disparate villages throughout Lavelefa Island; trade in jungle resources.

Raragaroi
Raragaroi was once a tiny village nestled in the foothills of the jungle, but it has most enthusiastically supported Castle Timara's arrival of all the human settlements across Lavelefa. Now, a cleared square has been cobbled together just for draks to come and go, with comfortable drak-sized couches built under wooden structures to keep off the rain. The rest of the town is built near the edge of a rock quarry, which Castle Timara is exchanging labour and know-how to manage. In exchange, Raragaroi is receiving upgrades to its infrastructure, up to and including separate sewage and clean water by aqueduct. It's a town in flux, and some of its residents aren't happy about all of the industry, but most are curious or excited to have a castle with all the gifts and leverage that provides. Raragaroi is also a representative town sponsoring other villages scattered on the eastern side of the island.
Known for: Basalt and granite quarry, drak & knight tourism (including shearing and knitting), trade in jungle resources.
