Appearance: |
Okon is dark of skin and hair, with light green eyes that appear to be the work of cyborware, but are 'natural' in as much as he inherited them from his birth mother. He is a lanky teenager, keeping most of his tightly curled hair bound in braids to nearly his shoulders. Okon wears simple clothing, sturdy and patched and usually a little too short for him, but all that love is sewn in by him, rather than his aunties and uncles in the ranks of the Nidus' lower caverns. He makes do with what little he has because he takes some pride in his appearance. |
Personality: |
Okon is a studious young man who, along with his fraternal twin, was brought up in the Lower Caverns of Nidus Descendi. When he was two, his parents immigrated to the Nidus from the collapsing Star City Station. With little prospects to their name, they signed up to explore the land surrounding the Nidus. Unfortunately for his parents, the dangers of the untamed wilderness were new and strange after a lifetime spent in the carefully monitored confines of a space station. Within a series of months soon after they arrived, both parents befell a deeply unfortunate accident, and Okon and his sister were left within the Foster system.
They made do alright, each in their own way. Okon, the more attentive of the two, has come up to learn several different languages from the varied speakers of the Nidus, and shows some potential for becoming a medic. He's very by-the-books, which his favourite Auntie, Danira, loves with all her mavenly heart.
Okon bonded almost by accident-- he signed up to become a Novo with his sister mostly to keep an eye on her and make sure she was safe. When he bonded Uchennath, he felt both relief that he could stay with his sister as they trained together, and also a whole new world of ideas and feelings, with his mind expanded between him and his bond. He has since become more even-keeled, though he is still careful and still very interested in the medical field. Now that he's graduated from training with his bond, he spends most of his time with other field medics, learning how human and dragon bodies can be patched and triaged. It's stressful, but it's meaningful work that he takes pride in. |
