Shumuke is almost always silent, speaking in an odd, resonant tone when she does raise her voice. Instead, she gestures with her hands and fingers; not exactly sign language, but something like it.

She likes to wear many layers, like she's a little cold, and whenever possible she sleeps with an entire pillow-fortress of a nest of around her. She's received many little stuffed animals from her aunties and uncles, and though Shumuke must share with her foster siblings, she's young enough among her cohort that she often gets many of them to herself. With help, she's constructed a small belt with her favourites looped through.

The only ones who really know about her power are her little foster group. Shumuke once saved her older foster sister, Ranutra, from being stuck down a crevasse, by connecting her and her sister telepathically. Other times, Shumuke's played relay amongst her group when they were exploring or playing hide-and-seek.

The girl is extremly stoic, afraid to speak because of her loud voice, and uncertain what her purpose is. She loves her aunties and uncles dearly, loves their dragons dearly too. She even loves their tools and furniture, and the pebbles that line the paths of the Lower Caverns. Shumuke is rarely angered, but sometimes when she's overwhelmed by someone's fear, she can shut down for hours at a time. Times like these, she will retreat to her room to hide under her pillows with her stuffed friends, all but disappearing.

Kherorrith is congenial with his dragon companions, but those will admit that he is a little unusual, just like his bond. He seems to be more aware of the conversations of those around him, in a sort of "hears all humans" turn-around to more familiar tropes. He does not telepathically speak to most of those he hears, but he has extended Shumuke's reach, and therefore the pair of them are often there to help before someone quite realized they were in trouble.
