Sapota is unusual amongst the mostly human populace of riders at Nidus Descendi. They stand out as an upright walking cat-like person, a Felinoid more common in the days of Star City. Standing at a little under four feet tall, they are pretty darned short by comparison to their friends, but they make up for it with their propensity for climbing just about everything. Rare is the day that Sapota walks along a bare, flat floor.
They have silvery fur across most of their body that deepens to a rich, blue-grey at their points, with some odd flecking along their back that doesn't exactly match up with usual Siamese patterns. Sapota also sports little horn nubs, which may or may not grow as they age. Their fur around their cheeks, neck, and tail is especially fluffy, leading to many jokes about things that Sapota has tracked in, or things that Sapota can pull out of 'nowhere', buried in deeper fur.
They wear a puffy vest and loose pants most of the time, but seem unbothered by the cold in the way that many cats and felinoids can be. In fact, Sapota leads the way when adventurous Nidus brats dare one another to jump into the icy, glacier-fed lakes nearby! They are comfortable in unusual or extreme circumstances like this: partially due to a drive to seek adventure, and partially because of their selkie and dragon heritage.
Sapota is thirteen by birth, but their heritage makes them a little more mature than their peers. For this reason, they're able to make friends across most of the youths of the Nidus, able to fit in amongst the more outgoing of them without drawing drama or ire usually reserved for those who seek to distinguish themselves by maturity. And my, does Sapota take advantage. They are friendly and cheerful and always, always goading. They smooth deals out, help grease the wheels, and break people out of their comfort zones (sometimes whether they want to or not!)
Sapota sees it as their duty to follow in their mother's footsteps, and their mother, a Queen Rider, has (metaphorically, for she's a foot shorter than Sapota themselves) very large footsteps to fill. Their boundless energy is not necessarily an act, per se, but if not for Sapota, perhaps some of the drama and adventure in the Lower Caverns might not be quite so regular. And Sapota's hijinks, while well-intentioned, are not always appreciated.
When Nidus Aven's announcement that eggs were awaiting novos, Sapota was not initially going to go. They had long expected to bond a child of Yusanabth, their mother's dragon. However... something had not sat quite right with them on that. There is a part of Sapota that wants to break the mold. They are afraid that if they bond at home, they'll be expected to bond a 'high ranked' dragon... however, at a new Nidus, all bets are off, and probably there are local Brats who are expected to take up all those spots.
Anyways, a new Nidus means new friends, and new chances for exploring and adventure. They're looking forward to a few weeks (or even a few years, if they're lucky!) of something completely different, and more tales to bring home, of adventure. There will probably be more than one kid at Descendi who breathes a sigh of relief while Sapota is away, too.
