Tucked among the many layers of the Nexus is a chaos dimension known as the Sanctum Dream. Over time, and with some definite machinations from its resident chaos godling, the Sanctum became home to a number of dragons descended from inhabitants of the Bower. As these dragons in turn begat their own family lines, their particular swathe of endless Sanctum space was affectionately dubbed the Burrow.

Despite the name, the Burrow is not in fact underground. Though some individual dragons may be inclined towards excavating dens into Sanctum earth or stone, the Burrow moniker is an informal one that reflects nothing but shared heritage. The landscape of the Sanctum forest is much more likely to adapt itself to the needs and inclinations of its residents than the other way around.
