Phayair is an old soul in a streamlined body -- elegant, powerful, and usually mid-ramble about something arcane no one asked about but now must hear to the end. He hoards facts the way others hoard gold, and will absolutely challenge you to a riddle contest over breakfast (then forget his own answer halfway through). Despite his encyclopedic mind, he's got the attention span of a leaf in the wind.

He's warm in every sense: fire-hearted, fiercely loyal, and quick to laugh, even at his own blunders. He considers Vym his forge-sister, partner in mischief and meaning, and is as likely to lecture her on ancient metallurgy as he is to nudge her into starting a rockslide for fun.
