Ability Pool & Glossary
Avengaean Functional Magic A wide-ranging ability to wield magic to just about any practical purpose. Though innate, practice is necessary to become truly skilled. Breath Weapon (Fire) The ability to breathe out a gout of fire. Breath Weapon (Flaming Acid) The ability to breathe out a spray of ignited, corrosive acid. Healing Tears The possession of tears that, if shed with true distress or sorrow, can grant accelerated healing when they fall onto the body of another. They cannot bring the dead back to life, but a being on the brink of death can be brought back to full health. This healing effect can last for up to a week and causes injuries to mend so quickly that it is functional invulnerability. Natural Spellcaster After reaching their first decade in age, they begin to develop magical ability. The older they get, the more powerful they can become. Plane-Shifting The ability to shift between the various planes of existence and cross into dimensions separated from the Nexus by more than mere space and time. Rapid Regeneration When injured, this creature's wounds immediately begin to close and lost limbs visibly start to regenerate. Even a severed head will regrow within minutes, but one head must remain intact at all times or else they will die. Reincarnating Immortality Should this creature die from any cause, they will reincarnate (bodily regenerate) into an egg and begin their lifecycle anew. They retain only vague memories of past lives. Reincarnating Immortality via Pyre and Self-Immolation The possession of eternal life, though every one hundred years they must return to their birth-place to burn and be reborn on a nest of branches gathered from a specific kind of tree. If they do not perform this ritual pyre building and self-immolation, they will die forever. Ritual Conjuration Magic The use of incantations to enchant objects or people, sometimes by invoking local spirits. See also: zagovory. Shapeshifting (Dragon-Human Spectrum) The ability to shapeshift to any form between human and dragon shapes, the former tending to retain the coloration of the latter. Teleportation The ability to teleport anywhere within sight or that can be strongly visualized in the mind. Toxic Blood The possession of blood that is poisonous when ingested and caustic to bare skin. Wind Magic The ability to wield magic related to currents of air.
