Grim and unsmiling, Vans is a creature who is widely regarded as having no sense of humor. In truth, she has a very strong sense of humor. The problem is it's all black. Whether she's in the mage-labs or patrolling the cavernous corridors, Vans finds amusement in the dark sides of life. She is not a black comedian, for she won't go around regaling others with twisted jokes, but in passing conversation she's known to have a line or two that others tend to find quite grim.
