Although Kednati expected this little spidercat would be nothing but a nuisance when it first attached to her, it has since turned out that Kednati and Ubirden (as the feline is now called) get along very well. Somehow or another, Ubirden is very much in tune with her new mistress's mindset, despite the mercurial nature of Kednati's perfectionism. Anything that Kednati finds faulty, Ubirden reacts to with hissing and growls. Like an extension of the spider herself, it is now not uncommon for Ubirden to be one step ahead of her mistress in identifying eggs or experiments that are not proceeding satisfactorily. Kednati always checks things out herself, of course, since she's not about to explicitly trust the judgments of a mere cat, but nevertheless, Ubirden has never given a false alarm.
