Though Ifrit is entirely a willing accomplice to his chosen bond's method of Seeking, the dragon himself really doesn't much like kids. Sure, he can get along with them well enough when they're the kind and well-behaved sort, but as a rule, he doesn't have much patience for children. The reason he enjoys helping his bond out is because he likes to make a scene. Sometimes there is no chance for a quiet abduction of Ksathakra's Chosen find, and instead they have to charge in and raise a ruckus. Being as massive as he is, Ifrit loves getting to swoop down upon a village or home or what-have-you and play the role of a big, nasty dragon, distracting people while his bond dashes in to collect her Choice under a claw. Since he has no magical abilities and has been denied Rune-Branding, it's not uncommon for Ifrit to actually be hurt by weapons or magic thrown up in defense against his "rampage". Nevertheless, he is never any less enthusiastic about his job. Injuries are lousy, sure, but it's worth the fun he gets to have beforehand! |
