Nothing of his shadowling father's cruelty is apparent in Fonotaro--in fact, the only danger he causes is due to abominably bad luck! He is horribly accident-prone, and not because he's clumsy, but simply because he's always in the wrong place at the wrong time. In general he's amiable, though always apologizing for knocking people over or being in the way and can be spastically random in conversation, interests, and thought-processes, flitting from thing to thing, rarely finishing a full project or train of thought before something new occurs to him.
