Zedacus is a friendly character who loves to be close to others -- though granted, his element can make that a risky thing without proper precautions. Nevertheless, he's always happy to educate others: balefire is an magical element, and not an automatic indicator of one's alignment. (He's looking at you, Anathema.)

He is also a lover of stories and fables. After all, warmth tends to make people drowsy, and what better way to drift off to sleep than while listening to an entertaining tale? It is an unfortunate coincidence only that his name and appearance give him an apparent commonality with Balespawn, for he has no relation nor similarity with any of them. But it's also why he keeps his name exactly as it is. Education.
