Gene Manipulation

Like Fantredala, Vaari can change the shape and genetics of any creature in any stage of its life, but she is restricted to fairly minor changes. Given time, she could eventually change one creature into another by sessions of changing one thing at a time, but otherwise she's more of a "costume" shapechanger.

Shapeshifting

Vaarikuva is a shapeshifter, but due to Dalake influences, the easiest forms for her to assume are human, and anything between human and her natural shape. Taking any other form is rather difficult and requires significant concentration.

Telepathy

The ability to communicate mind-to-mind.

Teleportation

The ability to teleport anywhere within sight or that can be strongly visualized in the mind.

Verbal Speech

The ability to communicate in spoken words.

Although her Fusion-mother Fantredala delights in tormenting others, Vaarikuva does not share that tendency. She does, more often than not, have a mood of steady amusement as she goes about her day, but she is more honestly kind than Fantre is. Add in the fact that she eats real food, rather than death energy, and Vaarikuva is rather well liked and trusted around the ship. She even actively helps out around the Destiny, using her genetic manipulation skills to help with final touches on Synths. Given that she can affect grown adults, now and then she'll help a crewmate with a permanent makeover, as well!

But Vaarikuva's good cheer is not eternal. Every now and then she can turn moody, falling into a grumpy and morose temperament. There's no real rhyme or reason to the shifts, but they are fairly short-lived. Since Vaarikuva avoids other people when she's in such a mood, most of the crew aren't even aware she has them.
