Character theme songs?

I was thinking back to a conversation Myst and me had a long time ago about character theme songs, and was wondering if you had any in mind for your characters.

I did manage to find one for Sa'yest back then, but not sure if it fits the Tris'Hath version yet. Its the first sample song, "Apology", at http://www.echocentral.com/_launch/site.html

There also was one for the Kaerwyn Jonas, "My World" by SR-71, but that does'nt fit the one on Tris'Hath now. Also I doubt it ever will, given the difference in, circumstances.

... dude XD You don't want to get me started on theme songs. One of my characters has, like, 60 various theme songs that fit various parts of himself, his story, and characters in it XD Another of chars has something like twelve total for her storyline, and another has about as many. Fairly large number of my other characters have a single theme. Like I said, you don't wanna get me started on theme songs

Lani Ay'Raiasha -- "Wayfarer" by Nightwish, "She's a Rebel" by Greenday

Let me think on it a few days. ^_^ I dunno if it'd work as a contest or not... Hmm... perhaps an exchange-type thing where you could put up your ST and... maybe... a desc of characters/situations, and have someone else do cover art or a storybit? o.O" It'd be a lot more effort then's usually put into things, but it'd be fun.

Dray: No worries, though I'd suggest giving more than the usual month if it ends up as a exchange with all the other stuff people have to do. Hmm, maybe having them draw a pic of the char that'd fit the music? For example one showing Lakota kicking back in a lawn chair as the world really was ending behind her or something. Dunno just some random thoughts.

Shard: Holy crap thats a big arse list. Not to mention you have them all burned too, definatly impressive. Also just curious, but how do you keep that many characters straight without going insane?

I have a large file. That's the last 6 or 7 pages, then there's the lists of what chess piece/tarot card/time of day etc they are, their full descriptions and such. The image at my DA account pretty much is just *the tip of the iceberg* as those are only "me" and not "me and 17 thousand background characters".

Not every one of them has been burned though, because certain pieces have never been in my collection and/or never been on CD.

You mean just Main characters (that we use regularly) or does that have to include the characters that we use once in a great while too?
Let's see... I'm just going to put the main ones, ok? Drat... I can't seem to settle on particular Songs... Artists/groups maybe but not songs... Mostly depends on the story they happen to be in at the time.
For instance, DkS can be Really dark and angsty like David Bowie in Labyrinth or really deep and searching like Peter Gabriel on US.

Just characters in general, after all Shard posted a mega-list of all hers and I doubt the plays all of them regularly. As for using it to describe a character to someone, does'nt bother me in the least. Might even come in handy sometime soon. *Waits for Dray to finish mulling things over*

Actually wanderer, I play the music all the time - however the characters date back to 1973 and about 40% of them can still be considered 'on my mind' at any given time. I've used a good number of them for dragon bonding.

Might hafta turn it into five, if I get any more.... Compiled with much help from Phoenix and one addition from Silver Midnight. And yes, they do indeed have a set order to them....

Torturing characters is fuuuuuuuun ^^

Honestly, no, I'm not that rough on *all* my chars. I can be pretty mean to the ones I like the most-- after all, without conflict and distress, how can you have a plot?-- but Cacopheny's usually in a separate category. After all, the type of insanity he's subject to comes from abuse, not genetics, so every version has had a pretty hard life.

Everything's not all bad, though: he has a happy ending coming soon enough ^^ Or, well, several happy endings, as his story continues for a long, long time XD

Oh I know it. I've had alot of fun torturing poor Jonas in the Kaerwyn rp, though not all of its been my doing. Lets see, he's:
**Note anything related to magic was temporary, so he always returned to being human.**

Seen a severe haunting first hand (Aka blood, flesh, etc were manifested)
Nearly hit by a ghost train.
Ran away from an army of undead.
Been turned into a living skeleton, literaly.
Been turned into a dragon due to anothers wish.
Also was given demi-god powers in said form.
Wished once to forget the undead bits and for a time had magically induced amnesia. Also noticed something better left alone due to having lost his memories prior to his wish....*Smirks*
Been turned into a pink (caucasion) colored Drasis during this time aswell. (Also a result of another wish, no wonder he hates that wishing pool now! XD)
Helped ready a pyre for some of the Blood Isles version of Sa'yests "family".

Thats only the first few months and also off the top of my head. A comprehensive list would probably be as long as Shards theme song post. (Also would probably bore you all to death.)

Once there was a time, when all of my important characters had themesongs... but that was so many years ago, most have disappered into the depths of time. oO My new favorite characters are mostly themeless.

I tend to give themes to plots, too, so it's very hard to share those without big explainations! X33 As for the ones I recall of characters, voila:

Music can certianly help the mood for a character or plot, and I don't doubt they'd be hard to explaine to a stranger JKatkina. I'm sure they were more than fitting though.

I've always wanted to do theme songs for characters, but am crap at picking them so usually just skip it. Though I realized that at least three of my characters have theme songs worked into their stories.
