Remember me?

Post by stardancer »

*wave*

So ever since reading about geocities closing, I redug up all my old links and have been lurking around. School has majorly taken over my life for the past couple years (oh, research) but everything's (theoretically) winding down. All of my old files are (unfortunately) back at home, so I won't have access to them until mid-December, and not really much time to work with them until mid-January (I'm doing a study abroad in England over winter break, and then a week after I get back I'm presenting my thesis at the American Meteorological Society conference/trying to keep up with my crazy thesis adviser). In theory, I'll be semi-lurking for a while, but I always need new ways to procrastinate.

So.. hi!

*waves!* :D Welcome back, congrats on the studying abroad gig!

This is probably a silly guess, but you were the one in charge of Weyr Eriol, right? (If not, apologies... so many 'star' names! X33)

If you ever feel the urge to make up some more candidates, sponsors, etc, there are always a few clutches being run around here.

OMG! ALLY!!!! -grabs Shay and Ally and starts dancing around-!

And England over the winter! Where abouts are you going to be? More Nexus people need to come and experience the awesomeness of England -nodnodnod-.

And, I have Eriol saved/uploaded here along with what I could save of the frenzy here (although, not all of it's linked to each other)... if you did happen to want to check on any of that before you go home... do I take the " All of my old files are (unfortunately) back at home" statement to imply you have most things safe? I was so sad to think we'd lost alot of your characters, so it's awesome if you have them.

(edit: And yes, Ally had Eriol <3) (edit2: Oh yes... this is Kiara/Mandie).

Yep, Weyr Eriol. I guess with geocities gone, I don't really have any old URLs (at least until I dig through all my old e-mails and everything. I saved a really odd assortment of files to my new computer.) But I'm working on reuploading what I do have.

I'm doing atmospheric sciences, looking to get involved in environmental policy and diplomacy (especially involving sustainable growth). My thesis work is in hurricane evacuations in Florida, I do data analysis for another professor on the ocean-atmospheric carbon cycle in the Atlantic seaboard, and I just finished up a project on sudden stratospheric warming events (a summer project at MIT, the only reason it's done!). Research projects are seriously addicting - and way more fun than classes (which is why I have like no actual classes next semester besides flower arranging and my England trip and all my credits come from research).

I'm going to London for a theater tour, so I think we're staying primarily in the West End, with a couple of day trips here and there. I can't wait!

And last time I checked (this summer possibly? I haven't been home for a while), I did have everything safe on my desktop, so I'll be able to finish up the Backwards Frenzy and everything.
