Halloweeny Dragons

Post by Shard »

Well, inspired by the enthusiasm (lol) in another thread, I've decided to be as lazy as humanly possible but still give out Halloweeny things this year.

Since I have the 'rights' to the Danachian templates, and there are a couple which really fit the bill, I'm going to be giving them away.

There are a couple levels of weird to these templates:

Plain Old Dragon - one of the Danachian templates without bells and whistles but with Halloween-type coloration (black, red, violet, orange, dark green, icky green, spooky grey, sticky white...)

Skeletal Dragon - got no fleshy bits. I'd be coloring them anyway, somehow...

Skeletal Burning Dragon - yup, skeleton with burny bits.

So let's see...

Name
How Many (up to 3, may be repeated types)
Tell me something you like doing for halloween or the season

I'll hand these out probably before Halloween but I'm not going to set a deadline.

Ah, the skeletal dragons... Tassanadrath's kids! Inspired by a rambling bit in my pre-flight Braethas Raug story where undead were supposed to have attacked some of the flight participants (most of which were mine anyway), including Tassa'.

Good divine entity, I am glad I'm over most of my hyper-emotional high school and college days. I had written some really... special crap back then. *chuckles*

It'll be nice to have a Danachian-template dragon of my own as well. Funny how I kept missing clutches and giveaways.

Name: Keilin Alyr
How Many: two plain, one burning skeletal
Tell me something you like doing for halloween or the season: I love shopping around for halloween candy (enough to not get the house egged or TP'ed) and then distributing it to the kids. Call me a sentimentalist, but kids are (usually) awesome.

(EDIT: That, and if we don't get a lot of visitors, it's more tooth-rotting sugar for us. Mwahaha. XD)

Oh I have coveted those skeletal and flaming skeletal dragons ever since I first laid eyes on them.

Name: Kayla
How Many: one flaming skeletal and one regular skeletal
Tell me something you like doing for halloween or the season: I looooove carving pumpkins! I showed off my zombie pumpkin (and victim) last year, I'm currently plotting for this year's. Any ideas? X3

I also love going to the renaissance faire that comes to town about this time of year. I get to dress up in my ren faire garb and enjoy a good pumpkin beer and a turkey leg.

Whoa, Kayla, those are awesome pumpkins. Even my husband agrees, and more than just his usual "uh-huh", nod, and wandering off. I guess it helps that he's a pretty big zombie enthusiast. *chuckles*

Thanks! :D I was thrilled with how they turned out. I love using pumpkin guts to make "gory" scenes. The year before my zombie guy I did a cannibal pumpkin. (one more) Those decorative gourds aren't carved for a reason, they're like wood on the outside. >_>

fffffhahahahahah! Those are so funny! My only problem carving punkins is that my hands and arms wind up hurting so much afterwards. Heck I can hardly slice carrots without that :( They've got CHEAP large AND small ones on sale right now though, I might yet pick something up and carve it this year but ohgod the ants, will probably make me regret it...

Tell me something you like doing for halloween or the season: Halloween's my favorite holiday of all! I like watching scary movies and dressing up in costumes most, I guess. You never get too old for that. ;)

Sorry to hear about your difficulties, Shard. :( If it helps, you could try carving one of those fake craft pumpkins? They sell them at most craft stores, they're completely carveable (I think they're foam?) and you can put them somewhere and use them again next year. ;D

Are these the Braethas Raug images or the Fionabhainn ones? I remember being all proud to have E.S. all set up just in time to swoop in and snag my 5 Rauggies. :D Hadn't even had a clutch but I made sure I had a basic site up to get a chance at those.

Name: Delyar
How Many: 1 Skeletal, 1 Burning and 1 Skeletal OR Burning (no love for normals)
Tell me something you like doing for halloween or the season: I love dressing up in dorky costumes - been a wizard, a jedi, a werewolf... heck, when I was two I got a dinosaur costume :D I don't go anywhere in them, usually just sit in my house and hand out candy and feel badass. Fall in general I love just because I live in the Gatineau Hills and can watch all the leaves change everywhere around me.

Like Shard, I am completely hopeless at pumpkin carving. I hate pumpkins, I hate all foods made from pumpkin and I especially hate GOOEY PUMPKIN SEEDS OMG (don't ask why, I have no idea). I was always annoyed when I had to do it in school as ewwww. So happy I don't even have to explain to my sibs that I don't want one this year (moved out ftw).

-Smacks delyar hard- Oi! I didn't realise who you were until you mentioned ES... here was me thinking you'd disappeared in the same was as Ally and sorta Reenee.... bad Shay! bad!

Anywho, back on point. I'm very tempted... but would have absolutely no where to put said pretties... -pokes pernese weyr-... I shall... have a debate...

The skeletal template showed up at the Braethas Raug, for both of Tassanadrath's clutches. I think the flaming skeletal was used for a character, who I vaguely remember catching a dragoness at Ryslen. I have no clue if the template was actually distributed at any point.

Heh... and I feel a little silly about the Raug. About 3/4's of the participants, including and especially the Featherdragons, were mine (I got just a bit carried away; you should have seen what I wrote of the pre-flight... 7 pages before I gave up *chuckles*), and yet I never could finish a candidate in time to grab a Rauggie of my own. I'm such a slacker. *laughs*

Shard, you're my hero! :D

(I kind of wish that Shiolar was back... I mean, not for the OMGDRAMALLAMA!!1 stuff. XD He just had some really weird and/or neat templates, many of which were lots of fun!)

Name: Dray
How Many (up to 3, may be repeated types): 1 skeletal, 1 flaming skeletal, 1d3 on the remaining type? XD
Tell me something you like doing for halloween or the season: Finishing homework?! XD Aside from that, I really want to paint my face, dress up, and scare small children that come to our step to get candy!! I haven't had a chance to do this for five years!! (:c I wish 24-year-olds were allowed to go trick-or-treating... maybe I should adopt a kid so that I can go out and get candy again. XD)

Maybe I'm biased because I was so fond of the guy, or maybe I've been a part of this general community for long enough that most drama blurs into the background, but I miss Shiolar badly. *shrugs*

Ah well, that's neither here nor there.

You could always try what my husband and I were planning many years back, Dray. We have a friend who's 21 now, 5-foot-nothing, with the most adorable innocent, cherub-like face. But we always wanted to see how long we could tag along with her during trick-or-treating and get away with it. She loved the idea too.

I mean, yeah, at 24 we're totally her parents. Totally. >.>

XD I managed to go trick-or-treating up into my highschool days, though I started to get mangry looks by that point, so I left off.

>_> I'm still hording some chocolates and hard-candies from my last trick-or-treating episode. I'm terrible at letting go. XD

I don't know... Shiolar was particularly nasty. Have you read the message that he left on his domain for anyone who was looking for his dragons? :\ I haven't seen snark like that since I was in grade 8, and he professing to be moving on to bigger, better things then us petty Nexians... wonder if he's finished his novel yet? Or if he's still spending most of his time on Pony Island getting into tiffs with people there?

Name changes are tricky, right Tiiyn? :P I've mostly been lurking for a couple months, but I haven't heard from Ally or Reenee in years.

I remember we tried to trick or treat in grade 8 and my friend got reamed out by some man because he was "too old to trick or treat". We were 14, he was just really tall. :P

Wow, you were luckier than I was, Dray. I was getting odd looks from people at 13, when I was escorting my little sister around the neighborhood. I pretty much gave up trick or treating after that, though as older sibling, I do admit to swiping some of my sister's candy.

Guess it didn't help that I've always been tall, but c'mon, I've never looked old. Least I don't think I do... *ponders* incoming appearance crisis! *laughs*

XD I'm just going to give candy to anyone who's nice, regardless of if they're 14 (or 20! XD) or if they're toddlers. That was the worst part of halloween for me... being socially chided for something that I didn't understand was frowned upon at the time. :c Way to take the wind out of people's sails, old people. Jeez. (XD)

At least there's still the part of baking pumpking seeds and making pumpkin pie! :D

When I was in highschool (junior year of highschool at that), me'n the group of highschool friends got dressed up, took pillow cases, and tromped all over the town getting candy. We then crashed at an uncle of one of the group and started sorting our candies out and trading (and getting sugar-rushes). No dirty looks here.

Then again, I was, and always will be, 5'0", and we were all dressed up extremely well. (I was in my Ice Vampire attire, one friend was a werewolf, another was a zombie, and the only guy in our group was like... a cat demon or something similar.)

Tell me something you like doing for halloween or the season: There's a Halloween parade at work (I work in child care) every year, and the staff all get to dress up, too. :3 This year, I think I'm turning Japanese. XD (Original plan was to go pirate, but then I realized I don't really have anything other than the coat and an eyepatch from my pirate!ship!kite kit that fit the theme. <.<;; So I fall back on my traditional Japanese clothings. <3 Much more daycare friendly, anyway.) Dressing up to be something you aren't the rest of the year is the best part of Halloween. :D
