Other adoption forums?

Post by Dray »

I just re-found the Crystal Palace forums and noticed that the entire place seemed to be next to dead. >.>" I wouldn't'a thunk it, given that at one point it was far more active than the Nexus!

I was just wondering if anyone was hanging around other adoptables sites/forums (aside from Pony Island... XD I can't afford to pay for the fees and the forums are just WAY too fast-paced for me! Blargh!) I've got the itch to do some non-dragony adoptions but can't imagine that anyone here would want certificate-backgrounded catgirls or anything. XD

I've got a huge collection of horses and wolves from Deviantart actually. There are bunches of younger teens doing those - so it's delightful drama half the time, but hey. :)

O.o Seriously, DA and adoptables? XD How does that even work?

(Lol, drama. 9.9 I'm not in the least surprised!)

I've been seeing a lot of that too. The artist posts a sheet of "adoptables", usually recolors of a template, and opens them up first come first serve. In order to finalize the adoption, though, you have to draw the critter you wanted.

For example: http://kilara.deviantart.com/art/Undrai ... -132668374

Oh wow. That last clause just screams 'DRAW MY CRITTERS!!!1' more than what I've come to associate from adoptables.

Still, it's an interesting way to switch things up! People just do these from their own pages and don't have any communities for it, then? >.> I suppose I should pay more attention to DA to find out who to friend to watch for 'em!

They have a club that you follow, some have more strict rules than others. I've had a couple sets of horses and wolves up myself, to less than stellar success, however there IS one person interested in Zekira because of em :D

For me, it works out well because I'd have been doing these welfs anyway, and the horses, I need for Zekiran background info.

There are a couple "art rpg" groups - HArpg the horse art one is probably the best known. There's a wolf one and probably several cats and foxes and ferrets and whatnot, I don't go for those. HArpg has contests and races and such, they're a pretty big thing - they do have their own off site forum too.
