Kreide Strain 3.1: Raffle up!

Basic Information

I've converted this into the main Kreide Giveaway Thread, just to keep everything together.

The general format is simple: I draw some dragons, put them up with a short stats sheet and open up a raffle. People then choose a number and their top picks of the clutch. On the Saturday, I give out the dragons. Sunday, I put up a new clutch.

Each strain is going for different traits. Strain 1 is aquatic dragons. Strain 2 is trying to shove as many limbs as possible into the babies, while maintaining this limb variety through generations with some semblance of logic. Strain 3 is wingless dragons. And Strain 4 is trying to bring back the scaley maned Takan dragons by inserting some Old World and Alskyran blood, which I consider to have more "neutral" traits.

Current Activity

June 14th 2009: Strain 1.1 went out, congratulations to the winners! Let me know when you have them paged. Strain 2.1 also opened.

June 22nd 2009: Strain 2.1 went out, sorry for the slight delay and congratulations to the winners! Strain 3.1 will be delayed by a week.

October 6th 2009: Strain 3.1 finally up!

So I recently doodled up some crosses between my Old Cascatan Asandus Aselera Sesske and my Old World night water Adrianeth as the beginning of one of my "breeding projects", which focuses on sea dragons! (Details can be found at my Kreide Sanctuary sub-site.)

I have four (4) of the children left to give out (poor Aselera is still reeling from having so many at once). They only have adult stages because I'm lazy (and no semi-transparency because I drew these before I learned that my tablet and I can live in peace, not war). Example (the kept dragon).

Since there's so few I'm going to do this raffle style (names, abilities, colour and personality already chosen and visible on the Strain 1.1 page at Kreide). Raffle closes at 11:59 PM PST on June 13th (so midnight Saturday). Please don't choose the same number as someone else! :D

Glad you guys like them. :) I've been dying to breed my Avengaeans since I got back, they're so fuzzy!

I'd have made it a bigger clutch, but I can't really see Aselera putting up with Adrianeth's ego for another mating. :P As it is, it's more of a case of Aselera stealing Carara's food (which was laced with fertility drugs in preparation for Strain 3 with her Piralan mate Gravo) and somehow convincing Adrianeth to uh... take a dip.

I wouldn't mind putting a bit more effort into them, they'd just go slower then. I just decided to push these guys out as they were instead of fussing over a baby image and how to give them out etc. I don't want to have 10 20-page novels to read per clutch though.

Could set it up like the BWR with the 'send me a story, stats or application... you may get bumped further up in line if you put more effort into things' or something. :)

I was thinking of doing it like BWR originally, but I feel like such a copycat. :S That and I love BWR and don't want to be all "omg I has one too!" If that makes sense.

I'd be fine doing it as giveaways, except they're small clutches and I'd like a way to make sure everyone gets one eventually... but that may involve a waiting list and getting a dragon they don't want as much.

XD I don't mind! People have copied it or borrowed the idea of it for other things before!

Also, how about using the templates that people really want but which there are few actual clutch-mates out of as birthday templates, like Phoenix? Just say that the dragon is completely unrelated to the others? As you get more of these templates you can link 'em as a bday template pile of choices? X3

The bday templates is an awesome idea! Thank youuu. That way I don't feel like Aselera's uterus is going to leap out of her body and strangle me for making her carry so many babies, but people can request them if they want. :)

I meant to send you a PM about using BWR's style but then artslam hit and I was all OMG ARTS and forgot. :P I'll probably keep it giveaway style for now just for simplicity, though, as my conscience is soothed by the bday templates concept. :)

The general thought processes for the strains are up at http://kreide.lambeosaurine.com/clutch.html so people can see ahead of time if they like the "feel".

2.1 is going to be some Flurry descendant babies with a bit of a rainbow theme and too many wings to be logically functional. (Preview here.) The colours will be much paler, brown was just my handy filler colour when doing the template.

Oh psst, Delyar -- I peeked around your site, and the clutches... very cool! Looking forward to the future clutches! But I wanted to let you know that not all piralan/niteshan crossbreeds have to look like the one I gave out way back when. XD They can if you want, of course, but the genes can combine in different ways than that, so if you want to do something different, go crazy. :D But first generation crossbreeds with niteshans will always lose their wings at adolescence, so yeah. :D
