FGPC Firelizard Method?

Post by Yakima »

I'm just wondering if people would like me to run those adoptions differently or if you want me to keep the click-n-take method up.

Reason One: That is ALOT of pages I have to create! :P

Reason Two: They aren't exsactly available ICly like the Weyr's. I think it's only 'fair' if people worked for them.

Reason Three: Three is a magic number so I had to put something here...

So, vote! I'm curious!

Click-n-take is the current method where there is a generator on the page and you click it.

Clutches would mean I have something that says there are so-n-so number of eggs in each incubator and you have to pick numbers. This, I think would also be more realistic. I already have a request form, really. >.< Heh.

The request part would remain.

I like the click and takes. However, run nests of "special" ones which don't get put into the generator! Or just have the basics available in the generator, and only release the different ones for special occasions.

Or maybe just, if you're still creating new colors, as a certain amount of time goes by, add them to it. I love the clickies. :D I thought it was very clever to see the "you're going to get a talking flitter!" thing the first time :D

LOL. That was the only way I could think of doing the talking ones without people making them talking all the time. At least, if I didn't want to make double pages of each color saying they're talking.

I was thinking that what could happen is that some of the eggs are put back out on the sands, or there is a breeding program going on with firelizards, controled by the Genetists, so people can pick up eggs on the beaches and it hatches red or purple.

So, the normal colors (just because it's logical), natural rares, solid rares (like yellow, red, and such), and the lights & nights (thinking about doing pale/dark sets now, too, for some of the colors. :P) will be available as click-n-takes. I'm debating speckles, but they might be, too, as they are a bit common...considering I have one or two in each Falas Clutch of natural paired dragons. LOL. Whoops.

I also have a new speckle pattern/method. This is closer to what I invisioned them:

Image (That's Airhyth, one of Flynnth's brats)

I might be changing the Elementals to look more like Mirilhaith's splotchy idea. Skyscapes I'm sticking the clouded effect on them because, well, skys and clouds are like peanut butter and jelly! :P LOL. Lots of changes...don't ask. You all know me by now, right. Yakima never just leaves things alone and is always changing them. :P

Keeps me busy. XD

Okay, yeah, decided that only solid colors will be avialable - you have to request or chance it for the others. :P *GRIN*

Thanks. I made the brush myself. XD

20 colors available via click-n-take. Added some new ones! But I'm not saying what colors are available!

How about the idea of making limited edition flits via clutches, or having limited runs during the click-and-take phase? "Midnight saphire silver-water and Blood garnet fire wubbles are available by click-and-take... but only for a limited time~! After that you can only get them in clutches! :D" so that people who like one method over the other can snag them those ways? Or rather... to reward people who are paying attention!

Heh, with me, that wouldn't work, Dray. I would forget to pull them down. I had the Halloween flits up for at least two years - oh, wait, they're still up. >.< But that is a good idea. :P My blonde-ness would just never allow it. XD

The problem with running clutches, I think, is that it really seems like more work on your part than simply leaving images up on a page. If you're willing to do the work then that's great, but in the "old days" when Pernese Weyrs were pretty much everywhere, it got frustrating when there'd be a lovely flitter image and nobody could ever adopt it because the owner of the agency got too busy or whatever ... of course, the same could be said of dragons, I guess, so I don't really think it would be a problem either way. I like Shard's idea, though. Have the basic five colors available via click and take and run special clutches on the side.

Well, I would have 20 colors available as click-n-take. I might put light/nights and pale/dark ones in, too. We'll see. I was going to do speckles but those, I think, would be better off doing them each for each person.

How I intend to run this is like this.

You have the option of doing the click-n-take with said above colors. These are found on the sands (yes, technically I should make them all available at the Weyr, too, but we'll fudge that part...), or the Old Sands where the first dragon clutch was shelled. Firelizards use the heated sands now for eggs. Mostly greens. These eggs get put back on those sands and hatch. People can pick them up like they were on the beach.

Or, you can send in a form for one of the eggs. I plan on having the forms open for a month, then 'switching' clutches. I'll create a generator to determine what's in the clutch, give them numbers, and go from there. If, at the end of the month (or when I remember), I there are still 11 eggs out of a clutch of 12, I'll 'put up' a new clutch. I don't care if those colors/firelizards don't find a home. It's realistic in that way because ICly, the eggs aren't going to wait for someone to pick them up and bring them home. They'll hatch when they darn well feel like it, with or without someone. :P I will send you the image, gender, color, and if it talks or not. All will be determined by a generator. I may even do themed clutches, like all Skyscape, all Elements, or all Speckles.

Of course, I may end up leaving the info up to the reciver, other then if it's talking or not, but we'll see. I honestly don't know how many people use/take FGPC flits.

Which brings me to another new thing: the Firelizard Registry!

Not mandatory, but more like a list to see where all the FGPC firelizards go/have been. So, when the new FGPC is back up, anyone that has taken a flit from the FGPC are free to register there flits. There is no prize or cookie for it, just the gratification of seeing them listed with all the other flits. XD
