Bear in mind these still need a fair bit of work. There's stray pixels and stuff that I'm not too happy with yet, but the finished product will be mostly like these.
Hatchling
Fledgling
Adult
Let me know what you think. Constructive criticism is nice, but not too harsh, please. I break easily.
The only thing I can see that you might possibly want to change a bit is the thickness of the neck, especially on the adult, just where it meets the head. Looking more closely, it's actually probably thicker than I thought, because of the main, but it still looks a little fragile; I think it's mostly that the jawline ends before the neck really begins, so it looks just a little disconnected. Other than that, though, they're quite gorgeous - I love the wings, and the hatchling's pose is just adorable. ^_^
I think it's the wings - the general slimness, but mostly the wings, the size of them and how long and slim the wingspars are. The rest of it doesn't look too much like Kim's dragons to me, but the wings definitely remind me of her style.
Is that a bad thing, that my dragons look like somebody elses? I can do a different set, maybe, although most of my dragons look pretty much like that, although usually with less fur. I don't want people to think I'm copying or stealing, though...
::grin:: Nah, I think it's fine. Your dragons remind ME a little of Psycrowe's Draekards, but that's because they're furry with big ears. My dragons are also furry with big ears XD It doesn't matter as long as your dragons don't have every single feature of another species :3 After all, great minds think alike ;}
Letting the days go by - Let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by - Water flowing underground
Into the blue again - After the money's gone
Once in a lifetime - Water flowing underground
No need to do that - your dragons are very pretty, and certainly original. Mystic said that your style seemed a bit like Kim's, but as she predated you by several years and you've likely never even seen her work, I'm sure no one would accuse you of copying her. Your poses are lovely, and they look unique to me - I wouldn't worry about it. ^^
I shall keep this set, then. I am rather pleased with them, especially the hatchling image. Thank you for the pointer on the neck, though; now I look at it, they probably should be a touch thicker, mainly on the adult. I'll see if I can do that without messing up the rest of it too much...
*nod* I like the way the adult looks, facing right, but the other two do look a bit odd.
On the other hand, on smaller screens the adult might be too big to show up all at the same time, and it would be a bit strange to have the tail but not the head... *g*
Aww... such a cute red dragon baby! *picks up and cuddles* Fuzzy red dragon baby!
*marvels at the other dragon examples, still cuddling the sleeping baby*
These are wonderful images, Shiolar. I know I definitely welcome new talent as well as more fuzzy dragons. ^^ As to direction, I think the hatchling is the only stage that looks a little odd reversed, but certainly all stages still look fine. Perhaps you could reverse the fledgling... that way, you have the varied directions without the cut-off adult head on smaller resolutions.
Also, some agencies (none here to my knowledge, but I've seen some in the past) have a certain direction for each gender or depth of shade. Perhaps females could face left/males face right or pale shades face left/darker shades face right. Just ideas if you don't want your dragons to face in random directions. ^^
*wonders if anyone will notice her walking off with the Mirus baby*
^_^ I wasn't saying that was a bad thing. Quite the opposite. I really do love the images. That style (pointy wings, long legs, etc.) has always intrigued me.
I love them all looking to the right - I think more than anything, we're more used to seeing things face one direction or the other and that determines what looks right.
