Raindraught x Briski template - help please?

Post by StarFyre »

I'm actually very happy with how this came out - it seems like every time I actively sit down to draw these days, it comes out slightly better than the last time.

I have one tiny, tiny little issue that I'm having trouble deciding upon, though -- the wings.

There's the image. What do you guys think? Hathian-style arm-wings or western-style wings? Usually I'd just go with the arm-wings, because in this pose doing that would hide a lot of the hind legs, the part I'm usually never happy with... but for once I'm actually rather proud of how that turned out...

In either case, I can't decide which would look best -- the other two clutchs have arm-wings (or variants thereof.. Ohrazah's clutch has two pair of arms, to which the arm wings are attached to the second pair... and Nauji's clutch has arm wings and their mother's really funky floaty wings because I liked 'em too much =P)

I suppose I could add both, but that might end up looking a bit busy.. or one or the other could be toned down (made smaller/vestigial looking) a bit... I dunno. What do you guys think?

>_> I'd say that they cancel out so that you can see that lovely silhouette. XD I like it without wings!

I'd suggest smaller versions of the mom's wings. They're part of why I chose her anyway :) It'd be a shame to lose those as a feature.

Alternately, perhaps put webbing in under the arms instead of full wings?

Or really see-through wings like dad so that you can see the limbs and stuff?

Thanks both of you! >.> I took your concepts and created something I'm rather proud of, though I still need to finalize parts of it. The wing pose needs a bit of tweeking for maximum stretch-y-ness without looking gangly, and I ran out of room on the page =P So the last few bits need to be digitally added in, but that's not uncommon for me anymore.

In exchange, take a gander at Ohrazah's babies. Scan's not that great because I sketched some parts in really, really light, but that will be taken care of when I outline it ("inking it" really isn't the right phrase if I'm doing it digitally, is it?).
