All right... y'all remember my researched Perne--

(At this point, someone stuffs a sock into Samber's mouth. After removing it, she continues...)

I have this urge to adopt some out.

Dasmalenra's already got the one clutch on the sands, and I have a feeling that I wouldn't be able to get nearly as many out if I just put them there (or even built a whole new Wey-- er, 'place with dragons in it'). And I'm too lazy to do stages for these guys. So, I'm thinking that a giveaway is the way to go...

I've got simple-basic candidate characters made up (75 of them...wheew) and most of the images done (I'd want to make all the blues and such different shades, but that doesn't really have to be done until they go out), plus clutch composition figured out. It would be pick-a-number, all images going out at once, and I'll probably write a sub-sub-par hatching story as practice for Dasmalenra's.

So, whaddaya think? Is anyone interested in a giveaway, or should I do this a different way, or what?

Right. So here's what I've decided on:

I'm going to do the giveaway, because I want to and because I have 34 homeless draggies sitting on my desktop right now. Later, I may do something else with them. We'll have to see.

Rules and Such

1. Only ask for one number at a time. Once you've got the dragon and its bond up and you've given me the link, I'll put paged next to your name and you can ask for another. Other than that, no limits.

2. Linkage on these can be to either Samber's Folly (http://www.geocities.com/mintlilly/adoptions/) or Dasmalenra Weir (http://www.geocities.com/mintlilly/dasmalenra/) but if/when I open a Weyr with these guys, the link will have to change.

3. If anyone asks for another number before their previous dragon is paged, they have to sit the rest of the giveaway out. The dragon is considered paged when I put paged next to your name and put up the dragon's url on the list, not before.

4. All of the dragons in this clutch are Old World (Pernese) pure, and there are no whites, mixes, or odd genders. Greens are sterile, golds are big, and I'm keeping bonding traditional. All of them are siblings, none of the bonders are related.

5. Dragons go out in groups of five, 'cause it's fairer that way.

I'd love to have some of these, Samber - I think they're among the best Pernese dragons I've ever seen. I think it'd be really cool if you did adopt them out normally, actually - there are so very few true Weyrs left, I know I'd send a bunch of bonders. I imagine I'm wildly in the minority, though, so in that case a giveaway would be lovely. ^^

I could always have a small giveaway to start, and then build a Weyr, I suppose. My muse is passed out on the couch right now, but it might me fun to give it a try.

I'd definitely like to both adopt some this way and send candidates. I still want to keep fleshing out my oldworld Dragonhope ranks, and I've still got almost a dozen Caledrus Hold characters that haven't gotten regular dragons yet. They'd sadly be relegated to stat sheets at this point because I was intending to do a big story with them, but wound up losing all the paperwork and finding it again, like 3 years later... Inspiration = 0. They're all intended for traditional dragons though!

Dragon: Green Krith
Rider: Ahory (A'ry)
Description: Ahory is about 26 Turns old, with dark brown hair, light brown skin, and grey eyes. He gives the impression of being very observant and alert, and is always moving about.

Astra

Dragon: Green Hanth
Rider: Nithwhyl (N'whyl)
Description: Nithwhyl is small and slender, with pale hair and fair skin. He tends to stare off into the distance a lot... he seems somehow distanced from reality. He's about 27 Turns in age.

Dragon: Blue Pyronth
Rider: Frask (F'skar)
Description: Frask is one of the youngest Candidates on the sands today, barely eleven Turns old. He's scrawny, but will probably grow out of it, and has wild black hair that hangs down over his unusual yellow eyes. He's bold, brash, and maybe just a teensy bit conceited.

Rider: Pterfi (T'fi)
Description: Quiet and brooding, with faded red hair and a distinctive hooked nose, Pterfi might at first seem to be too old to be a Candidate; he is almost thirty. But the searchdragons chose him, and so here he is...

Keilin Alyr

Dragon: Brown With
Rider: Hapter (H'ter)
Description: Hapter is young, about eighteen Turns, with a cheerful expression and a habit of whistling constantly. He's almost impossible to upset, which can be... annoying.

Sorry about the long wait for these. I hadn't transparisized these yet, and I didn't realize until I'd uploaded the images, adn then I had to go back and... well. Not fun.

Rider: Fant (F'tan)
Description: Fant is obviously as Holder's son: loud, forceful, and overbearing. He's also rather overdressed... no one told him he wasn't supposed to wear that flashy belt over his white candidate's robe.

Mystic Dragon

Dragon: Brown Jolanth
Rider: Terres (T'res)
Description: Terres is thin, dark, and birdlike in his movements. He's rather jumpy, and suspicious of strangers... somehow, he looks older than his sixteen Turns.

Rachael

Dragon: Green Ormanth
Rider: Forris
Description: Forris was Searched as a queen candidate, but she really didn't think she'd impress the queen hatchling, and she was right. She's too tomboyish, with her hair cut short, her dresses mouldering in some closet while she wears her older brother's hand-me-downs, and her rather unladylike habit of laughing at (and telling) jokes of questionable quality. She has a lucky coin that she flips or fiddles with whenever she's feeling nervous.

Dragon: Brown Pneumeth
Rider: Quindle (Q'del)
Description: Quindle is quite average in appearance, except for the inkstains on his fingers and the spectacles perched on his nose. At sixteen Turns, the lad was already well started in his Harper apprenticeship when he was Searched. He's still not sure whether or not he's happy about being here...

Description: Feng is tall for fifteen Turns, with a muscular build and smooth blue-black hair that reaches to his shoulders. One of the first things one notices about him is that all of his fingers (excepting his thumbs) are the same length.

Dragon: Brown Corinth
Rider: Pacha (P'cha)
Description: Pacha is, unlike most other Pernese, religious, pious to a fault. (We blame AIVAS... durned thing had far to much interesting information stored away.) As a result, most people think him quite mad. He's young enough at 18 to change his views, though, so maybe he'll give up and conform once he sees that no one is listening.

Naeodin

Dragon: Blue Lobelith
Rider: Jomil (J'mil)
Description: Jomil is exactly twenty Turns old, elegant, sophisticated, polite... and has absolutely no sense of humor. One can't help but feel sorry for him, his dragon, and whoever ends up getting stuck with him as mate.

Dragon: Bronze Fugeth
Rider: Murg (M'reg)
Description: Murg comes from a Minercrafthall, and looks it. Muscular and a bit stooped, he wears black clothes that don't show the dust and dirt of work. A skilled journeyman, he was expecting to be sent to another, smaller mine but instead ended up here. He's thrilled inwardly, but isn't going to let it show... he doesn't want to be disappointed.

Rider: Melor (M'lor)
Description: Melor is one of those people who refuse to take anything seriously, turning even Threadfall into a joke. Needless to say, this is not always appreciated... but it does keep morale up, and that is useful. He's short and rather awkwarly proportioned, with feet to big and wild, scraggly borwn hair, rather like a half-grown puppy, but at twenty Turns he is unlikely to grow any more.
