Redrawn long-fur Zalor and "Don't Drop the Potato"

Post by Cy »

Two doodles done while the power was out. Ended up inking them.

Image
Don't drop the potato cause they can't get back up.

Not happy with this one, definitely must fix the tail. But some of the long furred Zalor running around Renaissance do have fure like this. And their manes they are very protective of. You should hear them argue with each other about whose mane is silkier e.e

Here is the redrawn version. I refuse to color it until a master a new style XD

... Potatos are good conductors of electricity, you know. They're fun to play with, and explode in the microwave/toaster oven, as I've proven repeatedly to my parent's dismay.

Blue Lagoon: *boggles at the dropped Selampotato* But... I fall down and... I can get back up! Why are you like a silly turtle, potato-sibling? *pokes the overturned Selampotato warily*

Wait... hydras roam here! I must guard my potato sibling from those who might try to eat them! *darts off and returns clad in his aluminum foil armor from a prior LotR escapde*

Now try and devour my potato-sibling, foul hydras! I am the champion of the Selampotato line! *brandishes a cardboard sword and swipes at the air, trying his best to look menacing*

Keilin Alyr: Erm... don't mind my potato baby's antics. I must say though, your Zalor doodles are absolutely adorable. I can't wait to see Lola's kids. ^_^

Grapes hover before exploding and Peeps expand and look like UFOs <3

No worries Keilin ^_^ One part of the sketch is giving me problems, but they'll be done soon, hopefully =)

You assume correctly. They'll come float into the air about half an inch to inch before going SPLAT.

Does anyone know of any good cg-style tutorials? Or any coloring tutorials at all? I think it's time I learned to do it the proper way ^_^'

XD This was the tutorial I used for my very first photoshop-coloured image, which I was very proud of... so I figure it must be pretty good! Hope it's useful for you!

Nice! I like that coloring a lot :D ...hm, only one small crit, it's a little odd that the rest of the zalor's floof isn't "blowing" in the same direction as its mane (such as its feet-floof and tail) It looks like its mane is in a pretty strong wind, just not the rest of it ;}

HAIR GEL! *runs before she gets bricked again*

And Cy, if you don't like that first adult image, can I have it? I just love the facial expression there.

Thanks Lakota ^_^ I kinda of noticed it halfway through coloring and was like, "Hm... Well... No, not gonna re-draw it. Maybe they just won't notice >.>" XD

Well Naeodin, if someone, once there is an open slot, sends me something really fuzzy >.> Or I might just use a long furred as the random mate for someone. We'll see =)

Sure Mystic. You're welcome to it, I'm not going to do anything with it ^_^

Pretty! Pretty, pretty, pretty.

Actually, I liked the first one better, though I like this one, too. Can't wait till these are adoptable. ^_^

:D Great colouring job, Cy! ^___^ I especially like all of the detail you put into their longer hair. Very pretty.

;.; Makes me sad that you're not going to do anything with the first, though... I quite like that one!

Thanks Dray ^_^ I wish had the patience and the know-how to make the rest of it look as good >.> *Blames her human coloring days for the mane*

Mystic ought to be doing something with the first, and I'll probably use the first pose for something better eventually =)

... Mystic's plotting. That's a Bad Thing. *runs and hides... wait, correction - hands Mystic an extra Hathian-Hybrid to keep her occupied, since doing that would bump her number of resident tricksters up to three... teehee.. NOW flees the area*

Come to think of it... *bright smile, hands Mystic the half dozen that she colored just to see how certain things would look* ^_^ Now I'm going to calmly go hide in someone else's world so that maybe Mystic won't destroy me. *hides behind Baeris*
