So yeah... I've been practicing with my tablet and sort of getting better at coloring - I think. I'm still nowhere near many of you, my arts are pretty much plain compared to you all, but I'm proud of my progress. ^^

So I present you two role play charriers of mine: Hasima for Lion King and Zaesh - a Keindry in a DRoP Weyr (Waterfall Weyr).

Hasima

Image

Here she is! Hasima as a newborn cub... Let's say aboout a couple of weeks old. ^^ So far it's the only picture of her actually smiling... o.o It must be a miracle.

Image

An image I did out of boredome. This is Hasima when she was a cub... She wasn't very social as you can see.

Image

Yet another image of Hasima as a cub done by me - Mmmmm... Seems like she just woke up from a nap and those claws look very sharp.

Image

Hasima as a youngster walking around. I discovered in this picture that - if making standing lions was tough - making lions with movement in their legs and a new pose for the tail was even tougher.

Image

A pick of a young adult look for Hasima. Honestly I'm not fully happy with the outcome, though I must say it's still one that I like... I need to organize in my mind how that tuff of hair will be organized in her face. X3

Zaesh

Image
Ok... XD I think this one does look closer to the age I was aiming... Perhaps a month or two or so. X3

Image
This was suposed to be my first attempt at a more baby picture of him... I don't think it worked out after all. XD So instead I went with the more chibi version above. o.O

Image

Lookie! It's Zaesh, again! Of course this is a much older pic of him... Say... Six to eight months of age?

Image
A more 'adult' version of Zaesh... XD Say.... A very young adult, maybe two years at the most.

Mmmm... Not sure if you'd like to get biten - or bite - these two kitties... They're quite... Bite-ish. XD

And I like LK style - it's fun. But Paws and tail are still a headache for me. x.x

Ooh, very nice! I think the last image is my favorite out of the lot: I like his pose and I think that having the eye less large helps a bit, too.

:O The only thing that I want to poke about (I hope I'm allowed to!) is that your light and shadows all seem to be coming from different directions on different parts of the body! I find it very distracting when looking at the image. If it helps, perhaps put a temporary spot on your 'canvas' where you want the light to be coming from, and always do your lighter colours facing towards that spot, with shadows facing away? I don't know, it might help with that.

Otherwise, very cool! X3 Hasima's all full of 'tude. Hurr.

Of course you are allowed to comment. ^^ And I have to agree with you, I love the last one the most. XD

As for light and shadowing... I'm still getting used to it. X3 Probably a few of the mismatches that you see are because I either tried to place the shadow of smething else - like the leg or whatever - and messed it up... Or I lost my orientation and messed it up anyway. X3

And yush, Hasima is one attitude filled cool cat. :3

Shadow:

Hehehehe, I like that buc picture as well. ^^ Good luck drawing something in LK style! <3

Oooh, cool looking.

Is there anything out there that'll actually show you how to draw in LK style? *has never been able to get anything that looked half decent, and has never been able to draw felines*

What I normally do is that I'll use an LK drawing on Google for reference in the body and face. Once I make one picture and I'm sure of what I want for the character the rest really comes natural to me... Though I will normally try to have lion picture - real or LK - as guide lines for different poses.

*googles around*

Shiolar, maybe this site will help: http://fanart.lionking.org/

It seems a lot like Deviant art, only it's entirely based around Lion King stuff. X3 Wide range of talent and such. Might hold some tutorials you want.

LK style, I think, hates me personally. It never works for me, no matter how easy it is or the tutorial's explianed.

-hugs Nessie-

Happens to most of us. The paws were a bloody hell for me to get right... x.x I still think there are a few that are a bit messed up.

Thanks. I'll need it when I explain why I'm drawing on the wall of the blue room. :D Ah well, the walls are brown anyway and the room is such a mess it isn't funny. I don't even know why it's called the blue room when it's brown and the scrap of carpet that covers the floor is blue. Oh well. I've been supressing the urge to draw on the walls in that room since we moved to this place 5 years ago. *continues to coo at baby Hasima and pet baby Zaesh* I love those guys!
