Yes, Dray, I could just see you running around topless and screaming something like "I AM THE WALRUS!"

As much as we'd all love to get together finally, plans for a road trip, and especially a convention, are a little too far fetched at this point in the game. Unless one of us wins the lottery, no one will be able to afford all the expenses involved. For a road trip, it would mean that some of us would literally spend the whole summer travelling across the country, and we all know that's impossible. I'm sorry to be a downer on this, seeing as I'd just as much love to get together with you guys, but getting our hopes up is a bad idea. Like Shard said, one step at a time. Maybe a few individual roadtrips would be a better idea. We wouldn't see everyone, but at least we'd meet a few people. :P Like West Coast and East Coast Nexii. And then there's Astra stuck smack dab in the middle....

I can go either way, though I haven't been to the West coast yet.

I r and east-coaster... though not the closest to DC. ^^;;

And Dray - sugar can be just as intoxicating as alcohol. Plus, I can get hyper by being in the same ROOM with a hyper person. Though I highly doubt that there would be absolutely no sugar should we one day meet. XDD

I would like, but there's three problems: Transportation (I have no car), Time and Money. Mostly when I have money, I don't have time, and when I have time, I don't have money. The problem with having a nine-month job. ^.^

And besides, I think I'd probably SCARE a few of you guys if you met me in person... Ehe..

Well, my area isn't very interesting and I don't have a lot of room, but if the West-coasters (and any others who can make it) want to get together they can certainly crash on the floor/couch of my apartment...I get up early though and my puppy likes to lick faces... *L*

But seriously..if the west-coasters (since there are quite a few of us here in So Cal) want to get together don't leave me out of it! :D

Ball State has the biggest set of ding-a-lings in the state!

And they have a bell tower in the middle of campus too.

West Coat fo-evah :O

My apartment has a fold-ou bed which could probably fit three people, four if they were super ultra cozy, and the balcony would be warm enough in the summer XD I'm just curious as to how the boyfriend would react..

"Hey honey, there's a bunch of girls coming to stay in the living room!"

"..What?"

"Don't worry, it's not too many - only 10 or so!"

An alternative to trying to plan something ourselves could be to attend a con together, like DragonCon or something. Hell, even my city has its own little pet con XD That way there's con rates for hotels and such too.

Okay, so it looks like this summer Chaemera (my boyfriend), Alnaeyah (a close friend of ours who all but lives in our house), and I will be kidnapping... *checks the Frapper map* Phoenix, Kayla, Tebsiqeu, Asha, GildedLilly, Sherra, DF... and if we can utilize trunk space and roof space, and lower gas prices were to come into effect, we'll swing by and grab Kitsuneko, Sil, and Myrror.

Freakin' road trip, baby! XD

We'll wander around the coast for a few days, stop by memorable places in everyone's hometown, then maybe stop by my hometown for some great stories and scenery (any equestrian buffs in you lot would /love/ Warrenton... it's /heavily/ steeped in horse culture... and for history buffs, Chaemera is the place to go for little-known facts of the county), and maybe we could find a campground near the mountains and tell crazy stories and do whatever the hell it is that people like us do when we're in person.

Heh, got carried away there. *giggles lightly* Still, if I managed to win the lottery or somesuch, I'm blowing at least half of it on an East Coast Nexus meet. That would be awesome beyond belief.

O_O There is...nothing in my hometown. Believe me, just ask Myrror or anyone who's been to Terre Haute.

I've never been to Terre Haute...that I know of, accually. My friend Bretoven probably has, though. He practically lives in his car...

In Muncie, we have Garfield on the Welcome to Muncie signs. I was able to go to Garfield's 25th birthday party for the sole reason of LIVING in Muncie--like I said, no transportation. I have seen Paws, Inc's headquarters in Albany...Have a Garfield exibit in the Children's Museum, a Garfield Bookmobile... and accually traveling in Muncie isn't that bad, the bus service is rather decent, and only costs a buck for a day pass (or, if you're like me, and have a school ID, you can ride free!)

How far is Terre Haute from Indy? *considers going to the map again*

Before you kidnap me, you'd better have an extra front seat and some dramamine.

I am a DC-er! *giggle*

...but like I said, I'm 14. I can't just hop on a car and run away with you guys, much as I think that'd be fun.

...I think that the best idea, at least to start, would be to get a con table somewhere and shove up some art. We could all take shifts working it, and any proceeds above what went into getting a table could be used to get a better table next year.

That's my thoughts, at least.

I seem to recall another dragoner living in the DC area...

What I think would be fun if all the DC area folks like... met up at the Museum of Natural History some day... with the dinosaurs! >D That is my favorite smithsonian and plenty of other folks around so... um... we know that we won't go psycho and try to kill someone! XD

Well, I suppose that is mostly for the parent's mental well-being... ^^ Everyone around here is crazy anyways...

I really wouldn't mind visiting DC again. I've been there twice, now, and really it's so different from here in san diego. Oh yeah, that 'winter' thing might be why lol! I'd definitely look folks up should I have a boatload of cash to fly out there and rent a car or brave the trains. ahh to have the $$ to do this... Gas prices = teh not happening right now.

DC would be awesome. :) But we'd all haaave to visit the Air & Space museum and buy space ice cream. YUM!

I love DC... used to spend a couple months there in the spring when I was little. Lucky to have college professor parents. :)

ooh! I could take the BUS to any museum you guys wanted to meet up at. Air and Space has somewhere to eat, so that's a plus, but the natural history has the mammal wing.

In a couple weeks you guys could come see our baby panda!

I'm in Indiana as well -_-; maybe we should do regional with a Canadian, West Coast, East Coast, and Midwest? I live round Indianapolis for those who also live in Indiana... and Terre Haute's a few hours away, isn't it?

*snorks, imagining trying to round up Mystic, Shay', Skysong and any other canadianites* XD We have a west coast and an east coast, too! It'd probably be easier just to clump them that way, then by country!
