They live in groups of twenty or so, and while they don't bond, as such, they do form exclusive attachments to certain people or other altilemus'. Roughly one in a hundred is fully sentient and capable of bonding a dragon, so I might do some for candidates later on. The non-sentient ones make very good pets, as long as the owner doesn't mind having many of their more delicate possessions accidentally destroyed.
Altilemus' eat fruit, berries, flowers, leaves, and anythings else that catches their interest, although never meat, fish or insects. They do like to eat shiny things, though, like jewelery, or really just anything small enough to get in their mouths.
They come in a variety of natural colours, I think; white, black, grey, brown, red, cream, and so on, but not blue or purple or anything. Except maybe the special, rare sentient ones.
This one is Vetch, Mirus' resident altilemus.
