You could get a total of 24 by the time that all is said and done, if you didn't have parent-freebies. three freebies x 3 waves and 5 written dudes x 3 waves! Those parent freebies are on top of the rest, and are clutch-specific! Just let me know when you want to call your freebie in! XD Of course, I'm kind of hoping that not everybody will use every single spot... I might go insane!

Ahhh, okay I get it, freebies *per wave*

I don't know that I'll be USING all those, however all 14 of my current people are pernese, so maybe I'll freebie some of the other breeds.

Oh shoot, I forgot to specify with that -- just send in a freebie/candidate form, but in it tell me that you want to claim a spot for whatever parent. In those forms I don't mind if you ask for a specific colour!

I was thinking that short stories would be just fine... I'm feeling undecided about stats page candidates, though I guess they'd be okay. XD I just want to balance out the fact that people have the opportunity to get so many freebies with some effort, or characterization of the ones they're writing!

As for time-wise, I think we're aiming for the holidays as our first wave. :) It depends on when Dray will be free, as she has the bulk of the work to do, so I figure it'll be sometime after exams?

I haven't even started on the matching part yet. XD I have two big projects due this week, one next week early, and after that it's getting my behind in gear for the last push so that I'm not scrambling when the final projects are due!

I think the reason that I wanted written candidates was because I didn't want people flooding me with five stats pages -- stories take a little longer to write, so I was hoping it would give people more pause instead of just "DUMP HAVE SOME PAGES! 8D" XD

So... I found all of my Old Blood template images. I had thought that I lost them, which was a large part of why this didn't go through.

I've PM'd Delyar and asked him if he's willing to help me out with a first wave, since the frenzy was hosted on his site. Regardless, I'm going to go through and start doing a few pairings for those of you who sent in stories (Yakima, that means you. XD)

WAVE BREAKDOWN
There are two gold eggs that are beginning to harden on the sands at this time! They are definitely up for grabs and will likely go to the candidate who has a nice story written for 'em (er... her?), if you don't specify that you want a certain colour.

There are a good mix of greens/blues/browns/bronzes, those same colours with some odd patterns attached, a few completely whacky colours (hello Kelrilturuth tye-dye spawn!), and a few Geperna. If you absolutely don't want traditional, or only traditional, etc. Please specify in your forms!

Freebie Candidates
There are going to be a lot of freebies. There are 142 dragons total that have been laid on the sands... some may wind up being duds, but it would be nice to get them hatched!

If you happen to be lurking around the Nexus, and feeling bored, I could definitely use some help with creating random candidates to help Impress these little buggers:

Name: (A name, and if male, an honourific)

Hair Colour: (Natural hair colours... or specify if its dyed)
Eye Colour: (Natural, or specify if altered somehow)
Personality: (A sentence or three are preferred, but if you want to toss up keywords I can fill the rest out!)

If you want, you can include an origin for them that's offworld. If not, we'll assume that they crawled out of the wood-works from the surroundings of Shintaru Weyrhold, which means they'll be Pernese humans.

I'll keep chugging away at this. :3 17 more slots to fill before the first wave will go out... though if they aren't filled within a few weeks, I'll probably attach them to freebies and divide them amongst folks who are still active, or make them duds, or something.

*ponders* I might try to get something written up for this this weekend; didn't make 50k on NaNo, but plan on continuing with it anyways, and the characters got me in a good midset for character writing XD

One question - candidates need to be human? Or are other races/species going to be allowed? I can't remember if this had restrictions to it when I first read it (waaaaaaaaaaaaay back) >.> And I am too tired to look at the moment XD

Since there are about seventeen spots left in this wave, including two queen-ranking types, I'd like to try to get the last of 'em filled and sent off to Delyar soon, if possible! I'm not sure how much internet access I'll have from the twenty-first of December to the fourth of January, but if you guys have half-finished stories, I'd be extremely grateful if you worked to finish them before the twentieth, give or take! I know that's somewhat short notice for a specific deadline cut-off, but I'd like to try to match up any freebies and have time to read candidate stories. If you have something half-written but just don't think that you can make that deadline, I can push it back, but in that case the first wave probably won't go out until some time mid January, around when I hope to have the Winter Gather finished!

You can, of course, claim three freebie slots in a wave, as well as any that pertain to parental freebies. ^_^

eta: Woah, I didn't even see that question! Sorry Jess! I think that candidates should be humanoid, though it's up to Delyar exactly how human they have to be, since this is taking place at Shintaru and I think that there is something about the Lord Holder having a hate on for strangely coloured dragons? (That may be another site and I might be mixing them up! :I I haven't read through the info of various sites in a while!)

Woops, didn't see the question til now. It would be nice if candidates were humanoids but it's not a dealbreaker. I'd rather err on the side of "have enough candidates" vs. "have only humanoid candidates". No hate for rare dragons (though I wouldn't be surprised if that had been the initial concept).

If they are non-human in appearance then they'll likely be kept within the Weyrhold so as to not freak out a bunch of Pernese people about alien invasions and whatnot. If they dislike this then I guess they can live at SULA and be carted over for each wave.

With my new CSS knowlage I've been trying to figure out if there is a simplier way for me to present the needed information but I'm struggling with that. I remember seing someone's information pages that I really liked but I can't recall who it was...only that they had impressed few dragons at Falas or something. *goes to read her characters stories as refreshers* I remember really liking Vesunte's...but maybe that was because I had Philippe getting into trouble again...
