Doesn't look like I'll get the twins done in time for Yuneth, but at least there's Illianth's clutch to look forward to.

Okay, Yuneth's clutch has hatched! And since I've literally been working on it four hours straight, I will work out the wings later. >.<
Dray, if you want any of the three fillers you sent, let me know, otherwise I'll keep them.
Illianth's clutch is on the sands and there's a new flight opened, Gold Mirheth's. That's it for now.

Aww, Kalinth and Skelath are so adorable, and I was a little startled looking through the records. A bronze? Talk about surprises. =) Is there a pickup page for the new dragons?

Also, Yakima, is it possible Raevyth's mother was white instead of green? I found mention of a blue Nenverth in a white Feraeth's story, which is close to Ferreth. Though I see no mention of a flight or clutch... trying to track Dawn Sisters lineages is so frustrating, I swear. XD

Yeah, the link's on the first page with the hatching. If you tried it just after I put it up, it might not have been linked correctly, but it's fixed now. http://sedonaweyr.freehostia.com/clutch1pickup.html

So how do you want to work the donations? I can put up their info and simply link to your wings and not mine?

Thanks, Kit. I really like the extended personality profiles the characters have. Skelath is such a sweetheart. And Tazmoruth and S'lun are gonna be fun. XD

Ooh, and Kalinth could make a good Weyrlingmaster? Corvus has been needing one of those! =D

*blinks* Raevyth won? Wow! I didn't expect that. (my dragons usually never win only because I never bother with pre-flight stories). Thanks! I get to feel special. Now, I have to send in a candidate or, two. lol

Yes, it's Ferreth. I have the hatching story here:

Ferreth was woke up with a start.  Something was different…something was odd.  She looked quickly at her eggs, they seemed fine.  Thank Faranth for that, for hadn’t that Weyrwoman and a bronzerider been messing with them, without her permission?  Luckily she had woken up when they were halfway through whatever it was they were doing, and had stopped.  Only half the eggs were not normal.  Ferreth snorted in disgust.  If they were so concerned, maybe they should mess with Karoth’s eggs, that would suit her just fine!
Ferreth looked about her with more urgency now, what was the matter?  If that Amera had in anyway harmed her eggs…she’d, she’d just…
Just what?  Karoth taunted from the heights.  Ferreth looked up to see the Sr. Queen landing precariously landing there.  Why was she here?  Didn’t she know this was her place, not meant for a Queen?
There’s no place not meant for a Queen. Karoth told her proudly, and leaned her massive head in closer for a better look at Ferreth’s egg.  Ferreth hissed a warning, and Karoth leaned back a little.  That was better.
From the ledge above her own “nest”, Ferreth felt Nenverth waking up.  She warbled with a greeting, and relaxed.  If her mate was up, she didn’t need to be so alert.  He’d help her guard her eggs.
From what? Karoth entered her mind again. From hatching?  For that’s what they’re going to do you know- hatch. Karoth warbled at Nenverth, who ignored her.  Instead the blue turned his head towards his mate.
I think she’s right. Ferreth told him at last, and he crooned at her gently.
Of course they are.  Shall I start?  How soon will it be?
Soon. Ferreth replied, trying to get a feel for the six eggs.  Ever since Amera and that bronzerider had tampered with them she could only get the feel of three of them.  She knew they were safe enough..but what about the other half?  They just couldn’t be dead, could they?  Ferreth began thrumming anxiously, and Nenverth raised his lilting voice to join hers.  Karoth regarded them for a moment from the heights before doing the same.  Her hum was a loud, scaling, contralto.  Ferreth tried to imitate the same noise jealously.  She felt Karoth’s pride and amusement and once again heard the Sr. Queen talking to her.
Don’t worry Ferreth dear; I’m sure the other three eggs are fine.  Amera wouldn’t let anything happen to the eggs.
Then she should have left them alone! Ferreth called back, and decided she should call Lorla.

Amera ducked in next to T’rin on some of the stone seating above the minor hatching grounds.  He regarded her evenly for a moment before turning his attention back to the eggs.  He hadn’t exactly approved of Amera’s doings, especially without his consent.  And what about that bronzerider, L’gal?  What was that all about?  Him, sneaking around with Amera, T’rin felt himself growing angrier just thinking about it.
Oh do stop it. Luith chided him. Amera has grown too attached to you to do any such thing.  Besides, the eggs are fine, Karoth says so. T’rin sighed, thanked his dragon sarcastically for the advice, and turned to Amera.  She was watching the six rocking eggs nervously.  T’rin smiled, no matter how nervous Amera was, Lorla and M’ranu were five times that.  These were there ‘children’s only children’.
“Which ones are altered?”  T’rin said after a moment, and Amera looked at him in surprise.  She’s thought he’d remain mad at her for quite some time.  She smiled at him, gently.
“I actually don’t know.  Ferreth moved them as soon as they were hard enough.  The identifying marks got scraped off in the Sands.  We’ll just have to wait to see how they turn out.”
T’rin nodded, and motioned to the largest egg out there.
“So what color combinations did you make them then?  Green-blue, green-gold?”
“Green-brown actually.  L’gal said it would be easier to that.  And one green-blue.  Although that one came about when Ferreth woke up, making a horrible noise.  She woke most the Weyr that night, and not even Lorla could restrain her.”  Amera furrowed her brows.  “L’gal was trying to get a hold of me this morning.  I was too busy planning for the hatching, but I got the feeling it was important.  He said something about the eggs not being something.  I hope he didn’t make a mistake.  I don’t know what Lorla would do to me, or what Weyrwoman Yakima would do to him!”  And Amera smiled then.  “I’m sure it’s nothing.  Look!  There’s the first egg beginning to crack.  Maybe that’ll get this crowd going?”  And T’rin laughed, for there was no crowd.  The minor sands were much too small to seat more than a handful or people and no more than fifteen dragons could perch on the ledges above.  Only the Candidates direct relatives, and involved dragonriders could attend to a green’s hatching.
“Where’s L’gal?”  T’rin asked.  “I don’t see him here.”  Amera was about to answer, but at that moment the first egg fell to it’s side and shattered into pieces, revealing a large green.  Ferreth bugled a welcome, and Nenverth echoed that.
The green shook pieces of shell from her body, revealing an enormous wingspan for a green.  She was lovely too…wait..no, the tiny green stood up and revealed herself not to be a she, but a he.  The few people watching, and could recognize the change, gasped in surprise.  A male green? What the..?  Amera sucked air through her teeth, promising she wouldn’t kill L’gal, she’d just tear a couple appendages off.  Well, it was her fault too….
Don’t worry. Karoth said quietly.  He’s fine, look!  He’s choosing already. And Amera looked to see that Karoth was right.  The large green, after finding his bearings, had gone directly for the oldest Candidate, Mauku.  The young man looked with apprehension and curiousity as the dragonet came towards him.
M’ku? The green queried.  I am Raevyth, and I will never leave you.  You do want me, don’t you?  I know I am not right….
“You’re just fine Raevyth.” The new dragonrider assured his dragon, and the green crooned happily as he walked off the Sands with his new lifemate.
After that two more eggs hatched simultaneously, both seemed to split evenly in half, and where one egg revealed a slim looking green female, the other showed a brown.  A brown?  Well, too early to tell if he was one of the altered ones or not.  He was small for a brown, but that was to be expected with a blue sire.  Nenverth trumpeted loudly, bragging to all listening dragons that he, a blue, had sired such a fine son.  Dragons warbled from the heights.
The green made her way delicately across the Sands, looking over all the Candidates as she did so.  Finally she sat down and snuffed at the Sand in front of her.  Oh, there! There was the one she wanted!  The green stood up only to trip and fall again.  She cried loudly and Ferreth hissed another warning at the Candidates.  One girl, Teera, ignored the dam and rushed to add the fallen green dragonet.
Thank you. The green replied politely.  I am Caralith.  I’m also very hungry…. Teera laughed, not at all upset her dragonet was perfectly normal, and hugged the green tightly to her.
The little brown seemed surer than his sisters, and went to look between the two remaining male Candidates.  Only one made sense to him though, and without a second thought he chose Tholden to be his rider.
I am Nyasuth. The brown stated, and rubbed his head affectionately on Th’len’s knees.
The other boy watched almost jealously as the brown left with his new rider.  He didn’t notice the second, very large, green male come up to him and sit right in front of him.  When Nekko finally got around to facing forward again, he was startled to see the dragonet sitting there, staring at him wistfully.
“Are you…?”  He began, and the green male warbled happily.
I choose you N’ko.  I am Neroseth.  I too am different, and you are special.  We will be good together, don’t you think? N’ko smiled at his talkative green male and had to agree.
Amera smiled pleasantly from her seat.  This was going well.  The remaining two would reveal whether that brown had been one of the “specials” or not.  Hopefully not, it boasted well for the Weyr if greens and blues could produce browns on their own.  Amera ignored Karoth’s disagreeing statements from the heights.
It was a long time more before one of the last two eggs cracked it’s shell, and even then it was a while before the hatchling made it’s way out.  The blue landed on the sand with an “oommph!”, and gave a startled cry before righting itself and revealing that he was indeed, a normal male blue.  There were two females left, hopefully this blue didn’t want someone from the stands.  Amera hated seeing rejected Candidates after a hatching.
Luckily the blue didn’t care that his options were female, for he moved unerringly towards Thalassa, and chose that girl as his own.
“His name is Inarath!”  The girl exclaimed in surprise, and the blue crooned at her.  He told her he was hungry, and she dashed a tear from her eye and took him to be fed.  One Candidate left, one rapidly shaking egg.  But Amera knew it was often this situation that led the young dragonet to Search for more choice in the stands.  This would be the tensest time on the hatching ground.  There were sufficient weyrbrats that day to attract a young…blue.  The egg hatched blue, a lovely female blue entered the world.
Lovely is an understatement.  Amera thought suddenly, and noticed people around her gasping in admiration.  The young blue was very large, and more elegant than any hatchling had the right to be.  She was built in just a way that would let experienced dragonriders know she would grow into a perfectly proportioned adult.  Her coloring was breathtaking, and she had an air about her that drew attention.
Why, Amera thought, she’s almost like a queen at hatching!
The blue nosed the air for a moment, before resting her eyes on the last Candidate.  The girl was watching the hatchling with fear on her face. No, Amera wanted to shout at her, don’t show fear! But Amera knew even if she did shout, the deaf girl wouldn’t hear her.
But the hatchling didn’t seem to mind, she moved slowly towards the girl, nosing the air the hole time and generally showing off.  The blue was almost touching the last Candidate when she spoke for the first time.
Oirana?  I am Tanith.  What?  You’re surprised to hear someone again? The blue crooned lovingly and nuzzled her new lifemate.  A tear ran down the deaf girls face as she hugged her dragonet to her.
It was then L’gal came running breathless up to where the Weyrleaders were sitting.
“Amera!  I mean, Weyrwoman, I’m….I didn’t mean to..”  L’gal looked ashamed, and Amera was ready at berate him for his mistake, when T’rin lifted his hand and stopped her.
“No need to apologize L’gal!  It was wonderful what you did.”
“It was?”  Amera lifted her eyebrow at her weyrmate and shook her head.  “No.  It wasn’t.  He obviously made a mistake, and if he was being that careless, he could have harmed the eggs!”
“I know..That’s what I wanted to tell you.  I, er, didn’t exactly make sure the sequencing was right before I introduced it to the eggs.  I accidentally programmed it to affect the gender chromosomes instead of the….
“Enough L’gal.”  T’rin interrupted, still smiling.  “Providing the eggs come out fine, and I have no doubts that they will, you did something wonderful for Dawn Sisters.  Never before has this planet seen male greens and female blues!  Why, think of all the publicity it will be for us.  This may draw enough more people here that we won’t be two wings short and constantly begging from other Weyrs.”
“Don’t expect us to try this again.”  Amera told him firmly, and T’rin nodded.
“Of course not, but, we don’t have to tell anyone else that, do we?”
Amera grinned and then laughed and patted L’gal’s shoulder gruffly.
“I think I have to agree L’gal.  And look over there!  Lorla and M’ranu look twice as pleased as we do.  They’re quick, those two, I’d bet they’ve already figured this one out.”
My eggs will be normal. Karoth said bitterly, and Amera comforted her.  Ferreth and Nenverth both lifted their heads then, and trumpeted proudly over their beautiful, special, children.
I was never able to find clutch charts for the first or second DSW and haven't found anything for the original one. Raevyth is from the second, his clutch was altered by L'gal. :P

Yeah, I was putzing through the late DSW archive and found it, meant to say something before you went through all the work to find the proof.

And heh, I can find examples of dragons named Ferrath, Feraeth, Verrath, Farreth, everything but Ferreth. I guess she'll be like Soranth, Portath, and company until I can find something. I just like having lineages for my dragons for some reason, I think my completionist/perfectionist fever has gone nuts or my husband's OCD is rubbing off. *chuckles*

Wow! :D I am so psyched about that Hatching! Three lovely greens and a blue, plus I got to read a good 'ol fashioned hatching story! Thank you!!

*runs off to page the dragons!*

After I page them I'll try and make you some Candidates for this next clutch, and after /that/ I will send you some chasers. :) Do you care much if they have a pre-flight story? If you enjoy those sorts of things I'm happy to do it, but if you could care less I could send you a couple now. :) Up to you!

They're nice to read, but I'm not particularly attached to them. I usually dislike writing them myself, so I could hardly fault someone else for not writing one.

Heh, I remember I got a little overdramatic with one of my flight stories and had my female dragon attack her suitors. Then again, that dragon was a special one. Real special. XD

Hey, Erinnyes, do you have any plans for Eweth? That silly Eweth-Eketh pairing has been sticking in the back of my mind for some reason, but ever since I've wanted to see an Eweth clutch, whether or not Eketh was the father. =)

Okay, first up, new riser: Green-Gold Syroeth. That makes three females, so no more until the next flight is flown, please. I also rearranged and updated the wings (there's now four of them) and put up a form for adding your riders to the wings. You can send it by mail or post it here. I don't think I remember which candidates were staying and which weren't, so...use the form.

1. Final decision of where they are placed is up to me, and it is subject to change as wings are added and rearranged.
2. Characters may be written into stories, particularly if they hold a position of rank or a special job, unless you say otherwise.
3. I may add a female to rise (except greens) or male to chase if things are going slowly, or tell me if you'd rather they don't.

Rider name:
Dragon name:
Dragon color and size:
URL:
Do you want them in a particular wing or a special position (Wingleader or Wingsecond, Searchrider, etc.) or leave it up to me to decide where to put them?
Any other preferences?

Any other preferences? you don't have to list them until they are offical dragonriders - I suspect there are a few clutches between hatching and adult but, yeah. I'm in no rush for him to grow up (of course, I can 'cheat' with A'ken being he's going to the future. lol)

Heh, mine are all technically six years older in the wings. XD I try to wait a few hatchings when it comes to mating, but otherwise, it doesn't bother me that much. I've never been good with timelines. :P

Huh. I may toss a couple your way for one of the upcoming clutches. :D

I was planning to get them hooked up, but I didn't really have a timeframe in mind for that. Especially since I retired the old Talis images, I'd need to draw up new ones (which is not that big a deal itself, 'cept I still have no scanner! ;) )

I guess if you wanted that to happen I could have them fly at someone's Weyr (not Sedona obviously since Kistuneko just told us she's full up of dragons mating!), but I'll look around for something. Or, I guess I could buy my cheap @$$ a scanner... Which I'll probably want to do someday anyway.

I'll think on it. ;)

You can have those three, Kitsuneko! ^_^ I'm glad that you like them!

D: I keep trying to get to the hatching story but it's giving me an error 503, capacity problems. I'll have to read it when I'm home from work.

Would you like some more candidates in the same vein? I had a lot of fun writing those three up... I think that I'd enjoy making some more.

well, if all else fails, Falas, the FGPC, and Dark Moon do accept females. I usuallly [very late edit: don't] get them in time so I use my own dragons...

That would rock, Shard. =D

Though now everyone needs to unearth their male golds as well as their male greens. Seriously, a male gold with one of the old Talor Cliff templates would be awesome. =)

lol well, I would rather have you have two then I have only my females rising. I know Kit is sending some more candidates for Dark Moon so I'll try to get Vinyath's clutch off the sands for your gold. :P

I still have to send my female bronzerider for Jaerialoth, as that's just one opportunity I can't let slip by. Though this head cold/flu/sinus infection/man-eating-virus/whatever the heck is killing me, I swear.

Just give a few days and I'll have them sent. =)

As long as it's man-eating...means you should be safe being you're a woman. :P

No worries, I still have to get Falas' clutch hatched...I'm trying to get some candidates/impressions (at least, A'ken's might go for a bit more) written first. :P

Yeah, I've got the stat sheets ready on them, but no stories yet. Give me a day or two and I should have one or two traditional candidates for you. :D
Darkling Dawn: Fauna Frenzy Open to candidates; flights open to males/females; rukel eggs/breedings available.
Drockh-Tallahn Castle: 3 eggs, 2 available. Females and males needed.
Sgiath Wolfkeep: 7 pups available
Sedona Weyr: 12 eggs, Deadline March 8. Chasers and a female needed.
