Appearance: Diri is far from being a luscious figure of femininity, what with her wide shoulders and athletic build. The burn scars that speckle her upper chest and neck only continue to mar any ideals one might hold about her. She is dragonborn, meaning that she is covered in a patina of red scales edged in varying amounts with matte grey and black. Her face is human-like, though her nose and mouth form a slight muzzle topped with a small horn and wickedly fanged. Her long hair is crimson red, and is often swept up in a bun or a ponytail. Her eyes are slitted and golden. Diri's hands and feet are tipped with claws that, while also sharp, do not impede her ability to walk or manipulate objects. Aside from her scales and odd colouration, Diri possesses neither tail nor wings. She wears armor most of the time, or goes without clothing altogether on rare occasions when armor isn't needed.
Personality: Diri is not the angry, blood-thirsty woman that most would assume her to be on first glance. It's true that she does look intimidating, especially when she hunches through a tavern door and makes the barstool creak in agony when she sits. However, if one can get over one's initial shock at her size and the amazing number of weapons that she's carrying, Diri is a peaceful, pragmatic sort of person who enjoys a long conversation even more than a drinking contest. She's happy with her lot in life as a mercenary, however she also enjoys stopping by the wayside to take things in. About the only time that Diri charges through bull-headedly is in battle and in love. When she sets her eye on a love prospect, she tends to swoop them along with her without much regard for how quickly she's moving them through their paces. Her love-life is rather fraught with drama because of it... but who is going to challenge a behemoth like Diri when they've been scorned?


In other news, Half Asandus Half Geperna Derivatives are done! I'm pleased with how they turned out. ^_^ The example is probably the ugliest mix of colours possible, but the rest at least are nice colour combos!

For the green and the green-gold mostly-Pernese, and the three Asandus/Geperna dragons, if nobody else would like one, I'll start putting together an adoption page for dA. I'd rather pass them out here because I'm a little leery of dA's art theft and I don't know how the ffff people are going to page dragons received from dA... but I'm thinking that the Nexus is getting pretty tapped out for actually wanting to collect and page dragons! If there's any way to make this more fun, do let me know!

Nigosun doesn't wear much that's fancy, being completely uninterested in makeup or preening. She'll wear a black and grey jumpsuit most days, something that breathes easily and is comfortable to wear.
Personality: Nigosun hails from a small coastal village on the outskirts of Isiodoth originally, where she used to work alongside her family of fishers and net-menders. Her twin brother, Songutan, was the bane of her existence right up until she packed her bags and left for somewhere better. He was always the better of the two of them, much preferred by their parents, other siblings, and even extended family. No matter how much Nigosun tried, he always seemed to swoop in and take the praise before she could quite manage to achieve some of her own. And he was well aware of what he was doing. Nigosun possesses more than one unhappy memory of wrestling with her brother, the battles of which could get quite vicious. Sometimes she still gets letters from him, most of which detail what new gains he's made in the world. She rarely reads them.

Nigosun is polite and proper by nature, but is also acutely aware of competition and sometimes makes a competition out of something that wasn't originally intended to be one. When she sets her mind to something, it gets done, no question about it. She is not very empathetic, however if she loses to anyone other than Songutan, she can take it gracefully and learn from her mistakes. One day, Nigosun would like to settle down and have her own family, those children of which she is adamant will receive equal love and affection.

Her straight hair is white and falls to around her hips, and is framed around her head by a fringe of long, delicate horns. Cherri' likes to wear outfits that you typically see in fantastic roleplaying video-games, often with asymmetric accessories and patterns. She loves glowing and shiny things, and tends to equip them whenever she can help it.
Personality: Cherri' is a private sort of person, being very quiet most of the time but with an acidic wit when drawn out of her shell. Most assume that she's shy, but she is far from that. She's a smooth woman, with her own goals and motives that few can predict. Cherri is a master of certain magic disciplines, and excels with psionics and ice spells especially. She has great patience and focus and can spend entire days meditating and practicing. When she is around friends, she is quick to point out flaws in plans, but she is also willing to give praise where it's truly deserved. She is a light-weight when it comes to drinking all but a few kinds of alcohol, and seems to become reflective and willing to share stories and thoughts on deep, philosophical ideas.

Actually, I have the old Draconomicon right next to me, and am gigglefitting over the thought of all these Dragonborn, with their mostly mutually exclusive heritages working with the Clan.

Hey, they're an awesome blend of old school half-dragons/draconics and new school dragonborn (the PHB seems to suggest most dragonborn have a generic scaled appearance of some nondescript coloration and cannot trace their lineage to any specific dragon variety - boring!). If I had the time to translate one of our old homebrew D&D settings to a Nexus style I'd be asking for one or two myself. =)

Soon as Jifiu and Jinfiu are paged though, I think my old Pern Weyr is gonna be my next priority. I miss that ancient thing. XD

And speaking of the Nest siblings, are the non-click and take winged cats still available, Dray? I think Jinane would be the perfect caretaker for a Loft at some point.

I do like the history of the new school dragonborn (then again, I'm a sucker for history), but the generic-ness of appearance/variety takes all the pleasure out of it. I mean, wouldn't it be much cooler if the clans had a distinct reason for being clans? That's why I'm mixing and matching old school draconomicon details about dragon types in with given details. So Diri has some resistance to fire (though, giggle, she still has burn scars on her neck/chest scales.. I'm putting that one down to messing up while learning to spit fire =P silly girl), and Cleyr can spit acid and breath underwater. And Cherri will probably get cloudwalking (because that's too funny, and fits her) and the ability to spit ice/cold.

And while (in D&D terms) they'd probably all worship Bahamut instead of Tiamat, you _know_ there's going to be some "Silver is better than Red/Black!" "Pfft, lies" "Prove it" "Grawr" "*friendly(?) brawl between them, life resumes for a time*" Snicker.

Rehn is not necessarily fearless, she just treats her fear as a vaulting horse to get what she wants done! Rehn can seem somewhat stoic, but that's because she is not overly exuberant when around other people. Never the less, she is loyal to her friends and family, even to the point of holding them above the values of the greater good.
